Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I was treated with 6 rounds of docetaxel in 2017/2018 when I was HSPC and I responded exceptionally well. I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and Radium 223 (Xofigo). I just completed 7 rounds of docetaxel again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling. Now

Panic Attack
I went to a dermatologist last week to have a cyst removed from my shoulder, and as usual Roman, my husband, came with me. The nurse took us back to the exam room and told us that Roman would not be able to stay with me during the procedure. She then went on about aftercare of which I heard nothing.

Radium-223 and [177Lu]Lu-PSMA
Has anyone here from Canada had experience with either of the two PSMA treatments. I was all excited about this until I looked into it a bit more and the results seem to be very mixed not to mention the cost of upwards of $27K per treatment (5 or 6 treatments seems to be typical). At the crossroads (again)
My profile is up to date, but, briefly, have failed chemo, ADT (am castrate resistant), failed Keytruda and now Pluvicto. Scans yest. & today show progression along with PSA rise. All my mets are in bone. So, my SOC choices are cabazataxel or radium 223. Other options are trial, which are a crapshoot

Moving on to hospice care
many of you have heard from me before at this point. My dad (68, diagnosed almost 2 years ago) had his last appointment with his MO two weeks ago or so. Radium 223 is out of the picture for him as he is just not well and it would not aid his survival at this point. They suggested some radiation for the

Update on Spinal nerve block
In the past, I asked if others had the spinal radio-frequency ablation procedure for back pain. I had bad back pain and was considering doing it and wonder if anyone had issues with it. Well, I'm happy to report that I had the procedure yesterday and have experienced immediate pain relief. . I have

ALP AND RADIUM 223
My husband has had 2 sessions of radium 223 and the oncologist is pleased that his ALP has reduced to ‘normal’ levels after the first session and stayed the same after the second. However his PSA has continued to rise and has doubled over the last 3 months since he stopped abiraterone. The oncologist

4th line palliative systemic options?
Oncologist phone call today was not the news we were hoping for.PSA had been at 20 past 4 months and hubby was diagnosed as stable. Monthly PSA blood work is done and this month PSA jumped to 29. suspected epidural tumour
Hi all! Hope you are all doing well. My dad just got his scans back, and to go along with his rising PSA (over 260 now), the said they suspect he has an epidural tumour. Our MO typically glazes past his scan results as she doesn’t seem them significant, I want to make sure I am right to be worried here

What should I expect at the end?
My dad 77 year old had been battling castration resistant prostate cancer for many years. He was in remission for awhile (unsure exactly how long as he was secretive about the whole thing) however it made a huge comeback in January of 2022 and he has been through a short stint of chemo as well as

Post triple therapy options?
This past summer, I wrote because my husband's PSA numbers started doubling very quickly. (see quick recap below) By the time we got the PSMA PET scan a few weeks later, there were too many tumors in the bones to count. We jumped into triple therapy: Eligard, Nubeqa, and chemo. David's last chemo (6

Barrigel and markers
This Wednesday I am scheduled to have barrigel and markers. Doctor told me to take two extra strength Tylenol an hour before the procedure as well as one Valium. Also, antibiotics. Is the one Valium enough to calm me down as I am pretty anxious about the procedure? Has anyone else who has had these?

7 September 2023 YOU are going to be okay
G'day my dear ms family. This is for YOU newbies (newly diagnosed) out there. Relax, do not panic, YOU ARE GOING TO BE OKAY. I understand the fear, the questioning and the blame, BUT YOU are going to be okay. Slowly pull yourself together and wipe away your tears, This will NOT be the last
