In the process of being diagnosed
My periods have been getting progressively worse over the years with the pain becoming more and more frequent and more intense. My period pain was so bad last month I nearly called an ambulance. I was vomiting, passing out and no painkillers touched the sides. I went to the doctors a few days later

Is it now PMR?
Last week I was finally after 5 years told by the consultant that I was cured of GCA. My blood tests were perfect and my recent DEXA scan was good. I have been off pred since August but remained on Methotrexate which I was told I could stop together with Alendronic Acid. As you can imagine, I was

Generic ursodeoxycholic acid
Hi, when I went to pick up my prescription this week, I checked it to make sure it was correct and saw that it wasn't the normal Ursoflak. I asked the pharmacist why there was a generic one instead of Ursofalk and she told me the doctors have told them to give out generic medicine unless otherwise

I’m going to see my doctor on Wednesday and I have a feeling he’s going to try persuade me to take Alendronic acid. It was recommended for me 2 years ago and but I declined due to the scary side effects I’d read about on here. My latest DEXA scan shows that my bone density has deteriorated more but I

Plus a first aid kit in preparation for any skin tears, that I am now very prone to getting without even

HELP with getting sleep!
HELP! My DH isn't sleeping well at all. He's tried Natrol 10mg Melatonin and it wasn't that great. I then got Natrol Melatonin Advance Sleep 10mg Melatonin (it's a 2 layer time release to help fall asleep quickly, then the inner layer helps you sleep through the night), sounded good, but it was worse

How to refuse medication
I am new to all this but was diagnosed with op after a dexa scan about a month ago. I had a fall on holiday in Portugal and fractured my ankle in 2 places. Missed my flight home but eventually made it 2 days later with leg in plaster and back to the wrong airport, this was in May. Then followed an operation

New member requiring advice
I have been recently diagnosed with PMR and have been on 15mg Prednisolone for 5 weeks together with Omeprazole, Adcal and Alendronic Acid. Any advice on do's and don'ts would be really helpful, in particular about diet as I don't want to gain weight. Incidentally I find that taking the Prednisolone

Health update
Hello I have not posted for sometime but not because I have forgotten my fellow PMR sufferers. Since I stopped my steroid treatment at the beginning of November 2018, family issues, including a bereavement have kept me very busy. Together with work (really looking forward to retirement but still 2 years
