Tranexamic Acid & Mefanamic Acid
I have been prescribed both for heavy periods and suspected endo! Doctor told me to start both as soon as bleeding starts! She advised the tranexamic is to reduce the bleeding, however my heaviest days are days 1-3. Surely day 1 im still going to be so heavy as the tablets won't have enough time to get

Liquid gel in COVID patients’ lungs makes way for new treatment.
In some patients who died with severe COVID-19 and respiratory failure, a jelly was formed in the lungs. Researchers have now established what the active agent in the jelly is and thanks to that, this new discovery can now be the key to new effective therapies. This according to a new study at UmeĂĄ

Continuous pain
Waiting for laparoscopy and changing to a combined pill. I'm in absolute agony continuously. I'm on gabapentin and mefenamic acid and paracetamol. I've been using a tens machine and hot water bottle. If any one has any suggestions to relieve pain I am really open at this point I'm just so fed up

5 Years on Alendronic Acid
Just had my annual PMR blood check etc. with my GP. I've had no problems with AA but I brought up the subject of reviewing taking it after 5 years and asked for a dexa scan as I'm not sure I even need to be on it. I had a dexa scan when first diagnosed and it was fine. He said I should stay on it until

Pain so bad. Is A&E worth it?
Had to come home from work due to debilitating endo flare up pain. I am now in bed. I take my mefenamic acid three times a day but it does NOTHING for me when I have a flare up. Also had peppermint tea and have a scolding hot water bottle and wheat bag. Has anyone been to A&E in the UK with endo pain

THE BENEFITS OF TAURINE ON STRESS

Husband was wrong : not hard headed after all!
Hi all, Flew 8 hours from Canada to Switzerland last week to find out if I can ultimately receive FUS PTT. It turns out that yes, except for low skull density ratio (SDR) of 0.34, measured with CAT scan during assessment. Soooo, husband was wrong all these years, I am not hard headed after all! It

What Question(s) do You Wish You Had Asked Your Rheumatologist at the First Appointment?
I have my first Rheumatologist appointment on Wednesday re my preliminary diagnosis of GCA - (That will be day 15 of starting Pred). An artery biopsy has been requested and I hope to find out today, when that might be. I have kept a note of symptoms from the outset but want to be sure I ask all the right

DID ALPHA LIPOIC ACID LOWER YOUR THYROID LEVELS?
Good morning! Now taking Alendronic Acid because of need to take Steroids. - Advice please?
I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis back in 2007. I always managed my condition without Bisphosphonates, firstly when I was able to take HRT and some supplements, then, when HRT was no longer an option, with diet, exercise and supplements. I have just been diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis and am currently
