Article from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell Medical College about multi-modal treatment of advanced disease.
This pilot study may be of interest to most of us since it shows that even with distant metastasis patients can achieve a PSA of 0 (non evidence of disease) if a multi-modal treatment is used. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5468169/ ------------------------ A Pilot Study of a Multimodal

What to expect after SVT ablation
Good Morning! I am new here but I underwent a cardiac ablation for an SVT on this past Friday the 27th. To give you some background, I was born with Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries. In other words my lower heart chamber is completely reversed. I also have situs inversus, a

Amiodrone Vs Av-node ablation
I must decide between the two. I am opting for A V node ablation. I have hypertrophic cardio myopathy and something is detached to 60, I guess my septrum. I just want to get rid of breathlessness and fatigue. I have heard that the node ablation can do that....could anyone share their experiences with

12 weeks update after second catheter ablation
Well at last my very irritating cough is getting better. No AF, just some ectopic beats most evenings which are quite annoying but settle by themselves. I saw my EP a couple of weeks ago and he wants me to wean myself off the bisoprolol and come off the rivaroxiban which I am quite nervous about.

Catheter ablation Friday, extremely anxious
Hi everyone I am due to have an ablation this Friday, I’m 27 years old from York, North Yorkshire. I get heart palpitations when I play tennis or badminton When smashing the shuttle or bending down for one near the net. This happens ONLY when I play raquet sport. Things like going to the gym or running

AV node ablation and pacing
Has anyone out there had an
AV
node
ablation
and pacemaker fitted. If so, what was your experience. I am under pressure to make a decision ASAP (had four unsuccessful ablations, the last one ending in emergency surgery) any comments would be appreciated.

HRT or not to HRT that is the question
After D&C and Mirena coil fitted then after a year of even heavier periods and excruciating pain, another op to remove the coil and an Endometrial ablation, that was nine months ago. I only get very slight bleeding, but I am in constant pain all around the abdomen, back and pelvis, I have never felt

Three months post final procedure in hybrid ablation
i had the mini-maze in April and completed with an RF catheter ablation in early October. I did not have an official review three months after the second procedure as the Cardiologist did not think it was necessary after my six week review; he was very happy with my progress. My next visit is in April

Hello, I'm new to this group and already finding it very helpful. I have had a successful catheter ablation which lasted from June last year until a few weeks ago when I went into atrial flutter. I have just been started on Amiodarone, this is the third day of taking 200mg 3 times a day but my heart

Pain 3 months after TT
Hi, I had TT and 59 lymph node removal, approx 3 months ago and RAI a month ago. My neck is sore as the numbness is beginning to wear off, around my jaw especially. I have tried every painkiller known to man. If anyone has any suggestions they would be gratefully received.

AF and anxiety
I have now been told that the only option left to me is an
AV
node
ablation
. I have resisted this for a long time, because I don't want to be dependent on the pacemaker, and I know from my conversations with doctors that the AF will still continue and that this can cause an enlarged heart.

Getting there
The dreaded
AV
node
ablation
. I'm only 41 that's why it's dreaded. Two weeks later I had a VF Storm. I got shocked 4 times to get me out of VF. So, my doc tried one more med tynenol. That didn't work at all. So I had absolutely no choice but to have the sympatectomy or die. Surgery please!
