HDR boost Brachytherapy + IMRT
Hi all, This is my first post since being diagnosed with g9 metastatic PC. PSMA PET showed several pelvic lymph nodes with Mets, but no other spread, and bones are clean. I’m trying to finalize my choice of radiation treatments. I’m currently on Lupron and Zytiga, and PSA is dropping like a rock

after EBRT …monitoring?
I’m up to fraction 20, today, 8 to go. (YAY!) I’m sure my RO will fill me in in upcoming appointments, but was wondering what I could expect in terms of monitoring results of my treatments afterwards. I’d imagine routine blood panels, monitoring PSA, but should I expect another PSMA PET scan at some

PSMA PET SCAN AND PSA
I had a disagreement with my RO today and wonder if he is right. My last PSMA PET Scan in Dec 2023 showed no progression. End January onwards I have an on off pain in the left ribcage area with an increasing frequency. To recap....PT3bN1Mx, RP in 2019, IMRT 2020 and on ADT for 30 months, currently completed

Uh... Oh... New Phase Awaits?
Dx 12/09, G4+3 Surgery 01/10 – Failed SRT 2nd quarter 2011 – Failed. Avodart worked for awhile. Eventually HT (Lupron + Casodex) in mid 2013. Worked great. Since then lengthy HT vacations 12/19/22-6/22/23 ---Orgovyx. Worked well so was able to stop...BUT NOW Starting to look like castrate resistance

Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I was treated with 6 rounds of docetaxel in 2017/2018 when I was HSPC and I responded exceptionally well. I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and Radium 223 (Xofigo). I just completed 7 rounds of docetaxel again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling. Now

PSMA Pet Scan results
My Dad has been on Abiraterone, Prednisone and Lupron for 2.5 years. He already had back in 2021 radiation to prostate, lymph nodes and 2 ribs. His PSA started going up and we just got the results from PSMA Pet Scan: “Highly PSMA positive tumor in the left prostate gland, increased in intensity and spatial

Final Pluvicto shot and things OK
I just had my 6th, and final, injection. Feeling well but everyone concerned with kidney function dropping -- hopefully transient and not an on-going trend, on the plus side this is the last time it has to deal with all that radioactive liquid. Chugging water and peeing like a champ! To review:

Accuracy of PSMA PET scan?
What would you venture to guess is the accuracy of the PSMA PET scan? How many of you showed "no spread" with your PSMA scan, but then learned via surgery or otherwise that there WAS spread which wasn't detected with the PSMA scan? And, how much better is the new Posluma scan vs Pylarify? My husband

Hypertension Stage 2, need advice.
Hello: My blood pressure has been uncontrolled for about 8 months. My primary care doctor has me on 100mg of losartan, and 5mg of amlodipine. I am also taking 1000mg of abiraterone, with 5mg of prednisone; also .4mg of tamsulosin. And I had an orchiectomy. This morning my BP was 156/97. It’s been running

Post-op PSA jump .06 to 1.1
Hey guys, I'm not a math person, but this seems to be way more than "doubling." More like 18x? Not finding any literature online that addresses this big of a jump. What the...? My urologist is currently in Europe. Wondering if any of you have experienced that big of a jump and survived. (If you did

Time to PSA Nadir is related to progression-free-survival
This graph from Teoh (2014) plots the relationship between Time to PSA Nadir (months) versus Time to Progression (months) (i.e., Progression Free Survival). Cohort: ADT monotherapy (No RP or RT), all metastatic patients, median 74 y.o., GS = 8-10, N=419. A cubic spline curve fit matched the data points

Testosterone was slowly recovering after stopping all meds 8/10/2023 then started dropping!
It looked like Provenge and SBRT last October had lowered and stabilized my rapidly rising PSA to around 1.8 for three months. Then three weeks ago it mysteriously doubled in a month to 3.1 A new PSMA scan showed four new scattered bone mets appearing since last PSMA scan 3 months prior. Micro mets
