Thuddy heartbeat after AF diagnosis
I have just been diagnosed with
Atrial
Flutter
with rapid ventricular response and given bisoprolol 2.5mg as well as blood thinners. So, now my heart rate and blood pressure are within normal parameters - but I have a very "thuddy" feeling heartbeat.

misdiagnosed or misinterpretation
.: sinus tachycardia,
atrial
fibrillation,
atrial
flutter
, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT or PSVT), POTS, Wolf-Parkinson-White,
atrial
tachycardia multi-focal atrial. In other words, it's not the test or the ECG that fails, but rather a misinterpretation of the test results?

24 hour monitor
Later on I was also diagnosed with
atrial
flutter
which had also been missed. But here is the question. A friend has now been for a 24 hour monitor and given the all clear. She told the doctor that in my case, it had taken a 7 day monitor to pick up this particular arrhythmia.

Could you connect your beginning first AF episode?
When I was first diagnosed in the hospital emerg with
atrial
flutter
/fibrillation my heart that day had instantly started being around 140 bpm (brought down with IV medication). I was referred to a cardiologist.

Atrial Flutter: is it a long-term condition?
Good evening, about 4 years ago I had an episode of
atrial
flutter
which was treated by cardioversion successfully. I was then prescribed Apixaban which I took for some time but it made my skin very sun sensitive. I took myself off it and took instead 75 mg of aspirin a day.

AFib/Atrial Flutter Burden
It says my AFib/
Atrial
Flutter
burden is 18%, which is up from 3% last year. This seems significant to me and a little panic producing. My average heart rate while in these episodes is in the 80s. Even when not on a beta blocker my normal heart rate is low. Around 50.

Hydration (again) - follow up
I have been in permanent
atrial
fibrillation/
flutter
for 6 years. Secondly, my quality of life is now much impacted by various urinary symptoms, including intermittent drastic and uncontrollable urge incontinence.

Rising resting HR
I'm on 1.25 Bisoprolol twice a day - started in March after a heart attack and increased by 1.25 when my
Atrial
Flutter
started in July. Does your body eventually become resistant to the effects (i.e. you'd need more of the drug to get the same effect)?

Bisoprolol - dramatic change in hr.
At this point I was in
Atrial
flutter
most of the time. Trying to bring my hr down , it was suggested to me that I increase to 10 mg and then possibly 12.5 ( because I am heavier).

Advice for newbie - severe symptoms, when to call 999 etc
She’s also told my mum she has
Atrial
Flutter
as well (which my mum was unaware of until now!) I’ve been doing a lot of reading and learnt that Afib symptoms can vary greatly and even be asymptomatic. So, my questions are (apologies for the long background story!)

Atrial Flutter ablation blanking period?
I had a PVI ablation at the end of July, which my EP says is 'going well' in that a Zio monitor fitted because of continuous tachycardia that developed and what I thought were AF episodes, has shown NO AF, just

Post Surgery Problems : AF and Sinus Tachycardia
Last night these might have included some
Atrial
Flutter
. I will phone 111 if this prolonged level reoccurs and will inevitably be sent to A&E. It could be that my beta blocker dose needs adjusting.

ECG can anyone take a look at this for me ?
I’m wondering if it’s
atrial
flutter
? If anyone can advise or suggest what it might be that would be so helpful.

After cardioversion
It wasn't the same as usual when he has had Arrythmia but for severe
atrial
flutter
and it was a rushed job in A & E where he was only partially sedated so he felt it. His heart rhythm/ speed is back to normal but he feels rubbish. Normally after the procedure he feels well again.
