Advice with best med for ectopics.
Been taking Atenolol 50mg for 27 years now for mild hypertension but since about a month or so ago I have started having PVCs on a daily basis. An ecogram showed a completely normal heart and subsequent holter test revealed about 3% premature beats but three different cardiolgists all say they same that

Symbicort 100/6 for COPD?
Hi. I've just been prescribed this inhaler in place of Fostair. I was diagnosed with COPD in 2010 after initial confusion as to whether I had Asthma. The tests confirmed COPD not Asthma. Reading the package leaflet it tells me this inhaler is SPECIFICALLY for Asthma! It doesn't even mention COPD! In

Meds don’t suit me
Hello I am female aged 62. Took Bendroflumethiazide for a few years for slightly high bp which settled at between 142/78 and 158/85. To try to stop the consequential and irritating need to go to the loo frequently the doc changed me onto Ramipril 10mg. Over the next weeks my Bp crept up and has stayed

Hi I am waiting on a ct angiogram. I went to my GP due to the tightness I have been having in my chest. It’s almost like it’s hard to breathe and the pain travels round to my back. Change of Tablets
I would be grateful if someone can help me been on bendrofluazide and changing to Verapamil. Are they of the same drug family because I will still have some of the bendrofluazide left in me. I ask because I have bad reactions to some drug and have been in A&E because of them

IBS-D AND SVT
Hi everyone. I have IBS-D with SVT. I've just been able to connect them since going through menopause. I've been taking 25mg Atenolol since 2011 which has helped greatly with the SVT. I am now on Premarin cream which helps with elasticity of the colon when I have IBS-D episodes. At this point I cannot

Hi I am relatively new to the group. I have PAF and take 100mg Flecainide at 7 in the morning and 6 in the evening and 25mg atenolol in the morning. I am due to go away to Mauritius which is 4 hours ahead of the uk. I am interested to know if people stick to their medication timings in their home country

Prescribing cascade
Although not directly applicable to PMR/GCA probably a lot of us may have this happen to us. Consider, for example, a man in his late seventies, fit and active, “routinely prescribed” (like so many of his age group) a cholesterol lowering statin. Two months later, he consults his doctor with muscular

Does anyone else have this kind of afib?
Hi there - I’m told I have a rare kind of afib where my atria is ‘impressively irritable’. In other words despite 2 ablations one on 2017 and another in 2019 my adobos/ectopics/tachycardia is fired from the wall of the atria itself rather than the pulmonary veins which have been tightly isolated. I’m
