It’s been a long wait for my referral at Glenfield but only 4 more weeks to go. I took on the advise from others about seeking a private consultation to then go back into the NHS but even that route was a struggle to get any response. Looking forward to getting answers on what my irregular rhythm is

Stay with Warfarin.

Going downhill!
Two years ago, I was given 50mg Atenolol to take daily. This worked for a few months but then I started feeling my heartbeat so Atenolol was increased to 100mg a day. This made me tired but I rarely felt a fast heartbeat. Recently I changed from Warfarin to Apixaban which made me even more tired - the

Apixaban
I take 100mg Atenolol which makes me tired but until recently has masked my heartbeat. I have recently changed from Warfarin to Apixaban and I seem to be more tired and get feelings of dizziness / not being quite right! Has anyone had similar side effects with Apixaban - or could it be that my AFib is

6 months since ablation
This week I hit the six month anniversary of my last ablation. Life in general is pretty good. When I saw my EP last month he took me off Digoxin and halved my beta blocker. Since I reduced the drugs I’ve had two short episodes of AF and one of Tachycardia. My EP has said to stay on the low dose of Atenolol

I am new here Im 57 Male and i have had paroxysmal Afib for about 2 years. My episodes consist of a heart rate in the 150 to 100 usually all over the place for about 6 hours then i convert back to sinus rhythm. unfortunately when i would convert i would have long pauses, the longest one was 7 seconds

Simvastatin
I am 76 years old and have taken Simvastatin 20mg and Amlodipine 5mg for 16 years, and Bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg for 5 years - prescribed due to elevated Systolic blood pressure only. The affects that may be caused by Simvastatin are muscle cramps in lower legs for 16 years that have increased over time

AF episode
Last night we went out for dinner with friends. I usually take my Atenolol (I dropped from 50mg to 25mg 3 weeks ago) around 7.00/7.30 pm but I forgot to take it with me. Around 8.00 I felt those familiar crazy palpitations and when I checked with my Instant Heartrate app on my phone, there was a crazy

BP & Pulse following Cardioversion
I had a cardioversion following a 999 call 2 days ago. Now home I find my BP 95/51 with a pulse of 56. Would this be the Cardioversion effect or drugs (only on 5mg lisinopril and 25mg atenolol so not heavy duty drug use) and apixaban. Also feel lightheaded.

Recently prescribed Atenolol
Hello I am 28 and currently waiting patiently for November to arrive which is when my cardiology referral appointment is for. In order to help with controlling my symptoms (dizzy episodes, fatigue and breathless) so I can continue with work my GP prescribed a low dose of beta-blocker (Atenolol 25mg)

Missed Atenolol dose for 5 days, incorrect script
I have been taking Atenolol for a number of years without any problems, however when I collected my last prescription I was issued with allopurinol in error, despite correct sticker on the box, signed and countersigned by the chemist and their assistant. I commenced the new meds and started feeling

Afib: No Symptoms and High QOL
I was diagnosed 5 years ago with Afib. Being symptom free, I never noticed till a nurse at my GP picked up and I was refered to a cardiologist. I was already on a beta blocker, atenolol, over 10 years, for HBP. Added Apixaban. Both tolerated well. Heart has checked out defect free and working well

Another update from quitting Atenolol
Hi all - damn it’s hot!!! Probably not the best time for quitting a bb and trying to put less strain on the heart. Went to my sons primary school leaving ceremony yesterday in our local church in Blakeney Norfolk before taking all the kids for a splash in the sea at Blakeney Quay it was then I noticed

Off beta blockers update
Hello there all - I know we’ve all got things going on as well as the rigours of daily living but I just wanted to let anyone who is interested about my coming off of the beta blocker Atenolol following what I hope is a successful ablation (although I still have hemidiaphragm damage). I hoping what I

Having a beer...
It’s been almost 4 weeks since my ablation. I’ve been back to work building houses full time and feel fine. Sweat all day in the 100 degree heat and heart rate in the 100s all day. I’m still on atenolol 12.5mg twice a day and Eliquos twice a day. I’ve read all over the internet there’s really no certain
