Country Health practice
If anyone uses Country Health for their thyroid support, please can you let me know how you got on. I am wondering if it will be cheaper to go down this route for a private prescription for my ndt. thank you x

Hypothyroid muscle aches
I have been sub-clinically hypothyroid for at least 14 years, based on my medical records, and was was treated for hypothyroid when my T4 dipped below range for a short while. Stopped when back into bottom of range and T4 always remained low. My TSH was normally around 4.5 - 5. When I asked for treatment

New paper linking mineral uptake and autoimmune thyroiditis.
This excellent paper (available) relates the value of minerals (well known to TUK) on thyroid function. No surprises but a handy lever to convince doctors of minerals' importance in AIT therapy. There are several papers in this research topic, and this can lead onto their access.

Switching NDTs
Hiya. I am currently trialling a switch to another NDT. I would be grateful if any folk that have done this could advise on dosing during the switch please. Would it be a case of just switching at the same dose, or starting again? Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks!

Are Urine tests for Thyroid problems available anywhere?
Many years ago my mother eventually found a solution for her total immobility, weakness, tiredness, and brain fog. It was a thyroid problem. It had not shown up in blood tests. She wrote the following:- [i]
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis., M.E. to its sufferers.

New blood results - advice on whether to speak to GP?
Good afternoon everyone, I posted back in November (https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/150229278/blood-results-low-ft4-normal-tsh-warrants-gp-review) and received some really helpful advice, so I thought I’d post again for your opinions with some new blood results. Blood test taken at 08:50

Symptoms fluctuating
I am positive for Trab, TPO and Tg antibodies. I had Graves, was treated with carbi (didn't need high doses), went into remission and stopped carbi as per endo advice about 7 months ago (after 14 months of treatment), was ok for a few months and now, instead of suffering a hyper relapse as I thought

Switching from NDT back to T3 only
Is something like NDT (T4) withdrawal symptoms possible? To be exact, if you are on T3 only but due to some circumstances have to take NDT for a couple of weeks as a replacement and then again can switch back to T3 only, then because of the longer half-life of T4 (up to 9 days I've read), can it become

Daughter’s results causing confusion - Hashimoto’s AND Graves??
Hi everyone, This post comes with a caveat. I’m sat looking through my daughter’s blood test results from the second part of last year. I’m doing this because she’s off college again with some sort of virus, this follows a week of Covid. I’m ashamed to say that I’m only looking at these results

Looking back on my thyroid journey, a success story and motivation to keep on fighting :)
Two years ago an occupational health advisor wrote a review of my condition for my employer that broke my heart. I was 2 months into taking NDT and finally starting to see some improvements in my Hashimoto’s symptoms. I was gradually building up my stamina and able to go for a 15 minute walk, and I
