Locally Advanced PC - should I accept offer of docetaxel?
Hi I'm UK based, new to Health Unlocked and just starting to get to grips with the chats. I was diagnosed August '23 with locally advanced PV. Spread has occurred to a seminal vesicle and, very slightly, to a pelvic lymph node (Oncologist called it 'subtle') Gleason of 4+5. I immediately embarked

Choosing Among the Many Treatment Options for Prostate Cancer, MedPage Today
This article is one of several in a MedPage Today series called "Medical Journeys". New study from Spain [1]. For many years, I used a product that probably contained DES (diethylstilbestrol) - perhaps 1 mg? My QoL was very good. When I eventually migrated to 3 mg DES - plus a shot of testosterone cypionate every 3 months - I began to feel frail. The new study associates high

Orchidectomy vs ADT
For anyone who had the bilateral orchidectomy, I would like some advice for my husband. When was it done? Before or after BCR occurred? What are the side effects? Do you take any other ADT meds after? How is your QOL and is there anything you'd do differently. He had RP in Dec 2021. No other treatment

Abiraterone edema management
One of the fun things I am getting as an SE while on lupron/abiraterone/prednisone is fluid retention. Edema and getting up to pee 3-4 times nightly (losing 3-4 lbs of weight during the night.) What if anything can be done about this?

Enzalutamide + Lupron
There was a new study released last week to show Enzalutamide + Lupron for high risk patients after RP or Radiation. I had RP 3/22 and PSA rising to .14 by 8/22 when I started Orgovyx and then later Zytiga. I've been having neuropathy side effects from Zytiga and interested if this might be better.

PSA increase nearly one year after triplet therapy (mHSPC), what's next?
Hello everyone, thank you for all your help for a year. My dad went from a high of 3103 PSA to a nadir of 44. He unfortunately couldn't reach a <1 result but it had stabilized for a few months after his docetaxel + zytiga + prednisone. Unfortunately his new result is 67 PSA exactly a year since diagnosis

Bicalutamide
My Dad last week was diagnosed with 3 spots of cancer on his prostate. 3+4=7, 4+4=8, and a 4+3=7 spot. The thing I don’t understand is during the visit to the Urologist to discuss his biopsy results, the urologist prescribed 50mg of Bicalutamide to begin reducing his testosterone. I believe this is premature
