Iron could help B12 levels

Vitamins
Hi allI posted here last week my vitamin test results from medichecks. My active B12 and folate were low so as per advice on the forum I have held off supplementing until my GP tests for pernicious anaemia. My mother had PA and I certainly do have some symptoms of B12 deficiency. I'm due to get my bloods

Boron, an interesting article about supplement for T3 increase
Found this article which I found interesting as a possible supplement to assist with T3 may consider after next blood test if no improvement. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4712861/?fbclid=IwAR3dMJ-9rLLZ47g1qBU4LbMViJROk8gIbRNhijGMMW3giwHjVbsY06Huppk

I am very fortunate that I can pop down to P.A. Society Head Quarters to lend a hand. I did this morning. There are 4 volunteers helping the small amount of staff run the organisation . The person there today was inundated when I rocked up. As they are everyday. We could talk for weeks but I said, ‘No

UK person wanting injectable methylcobalamin
Hello everyone, I'm based in the UK and have Pernicious Anaemia. I was able to buy methylcobalamin 1mg for self-injection online from Arnika Apotheke in Germany back in 2019/2020 and had it shipped to the UK. But a year ago, in 2022, when I messaged to purchase more, they said they were no longer able

Advice on latest test results
Hi, I got diagnosed with underactive thyroid in September 2023. I was put on 50g of Levothyroxine and iron tablets as I had low ferritin and anemic. My latest results show I'm no longer anemic but my ferritin is still relativity low despite having been on iron tablets for 2 months. Dr seems to be

High Folate, Low Normal B12
Regarding folate masking a B12 defciency…my folate was 24 ng/mL and my B12 was 252 pg/mL when I asked to be tested for deficiency in January. I was having neurological symptoms such as anxiety, pulsatile tinnitus, tingling in legs and feet. Other symptoms include digestive issues (I believe I have low

Conjecture
I use conjecture as part of my creative process. Thing is I do not pretend it is anything but conjecture. Using those who share their experience on this forum it seems to me that of the three forms readily commercially available Methylcobalamin has the most profound effect. As a person who is not

iron results
I’d appreciate some feedback on my iron panel results please? I know my ferritin is too low, even if it’s above the bottom of the range. I upped how much black pudding, pate, or liver I’m eating at 5 out of 7 days a week for over a couple of months. Is my iron too decent enough to be able to take

New papers on PA
There are often new interesting papers on pernicious anemia. I will add them to this thread to keep them all in one place. I'll try to the pick the ones I think are most novel & relevant, but plenty are published every month. To see more, check Google Scholar https://scholar.google.com/scholar?start=

Does the pill have the same effect as the injection?
I am from Argentina. My son has been struggling with depression and anxiety for years. 2 years ago we found out he had high homocysteine, low B12 and he has MTHFR. He is being treated with B12 pills (Jarrow) his values have improved but his symptoms persist. I saw your information in PERNICIOUS

Wake up very cold around 230 to 330 am . Any suggestions?
Wake up very cold and was wondering if any supplements might help this. Taking iron pills and b12 injections currently.

Iron Infusion Attempt
This week I saw Dr Robin Fackrell privately at Bath Sulis Hospital to discuss whether an iron infusion would be an appropriate way forward for me and if so how I could progress this. The outcome of the session is that Dr Fackrell will write back to my GP recommending this course of action for my RLS

B12 problems?
I don't know what your symptoms are but I was vitamin b12 deficient with a similar reading and I had the symptoms of tingling and wierd dizziness among others. Despite this I was told it was fine as within normal limits. It is a large range and stands to reason that that reading can be low for some

Late covid
My health centre is the same one that my parents used and took me and my siblings to. I am 76 years old. The building and street locations have changed and of course the doctors too but we in our town have always considered the present building to be our local, first port of call when we or our own

Supplements
Hi lovely people. Just a question. In the past, I have had v low iron, folate rock bottom and prob other vitamins low that I never had checked. I have worked a lot on my micro biome/gut this past year plus supplementing continuously. I cut out gluten as leaky gut was diagnosed through a test.
