Definition of PA
My nuero has sent me a letter stating that I do not have PA as I was never anemic and that the intrinsic factor test my GP took was not proof of PA ( though she says I do have PA) , yet he admits that I have b12 def with irreversible nuero damage so severe that he initially dx it as a combination

Feeling heard
Went to gp, feeling good that I've been heard! being referred to Derm regarding some symptoms, looking at possible psoriatic arthritis due to nail changes and joint pain, stiffness. (See pics) something I've considered for a few years now. She's running tests on nails, bloods and urine. ANA screening

I'm new, scared and anxious and facing long NHS wait...
Hello Everyone. I'm new here and feeling anxious. I hope you don't mind me telling you my story and asking for a bit of advice. About six weeks ago one of my fingers started feeling really stiff and painful first thing in the morning. I ignored it for a bit, but it then progressed to all my fingers

Great visit with GP at new surgery! Thankyou all for the great advice, I feel like I've hit the jackpot.
Thank you all for your help and advice. You taught me enough to get b12 jabs not only for the 6 loading jabs over 2 weeks but 1 jab daily until no further improvement is felt by me. I was offered the 6 loading doses, but explained that there had been an update in 2014. My thyroxine has been bumped up

Latest Thyroid Test Results
I can't tell you what a lifeline this forum has been for me. I have followed all of the advice previously given and am no longer on my knees, for that I will be eternally grateful. Just to recap.... September 2016 I was desperate. Brain fog, tripping on words, pain in arms and legs in bed was a nightmare

B12 Problem - Oral Contraceptive Pill - Does this sound correct
Back in Oct 15 I suddenly started feeling really tired, could barely stay awake in the afternoon, always cold, ulcers in mouth and pins/needles in hands and feet. I was told by my Doctor that I am B12 deficient but I have now been told by a Consultant Gastroenterologist it is Chronic Fatigue syndrome

Update. Drs today for injectins
Hi guys As some of you know I've been having a battle to get B12 injections. Went back and saw 4th dr today and she said "yes" as my intrinsic factor was negative she's agreed to monthly for 3 months and see how I'm feeling. My result was 162 for B12 with many symptoms , I've been advised to self inject

Will oral B12 complicate blood test results?
Hello, My apologies if this post is redundant--I thought I posted it yesterday, but it seems to have vanished. I was diagnosed with low Vitamin D in April and low B12 (148) in August. I am in the US. I received daily injections for 7 days, followed by 4 weekly injections, and now monthly "forever.

Help with understanding test results, please?
Hi all, I am going to see my GP tomorrow and I am going through my blood results Does anyone know what is this new assay in use since May 2015? Why do they say 'intrinsic factor ab to follow?' Is this a different test to Intrinsic Factor antibody? Why didn't they do the parietal cell antibodies? End

Data Protection Act and proof to my dads GP that he CAN have his blood test results!
Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone can help me. The NHS have let my dad down terribly this year, and now today his surgery in Crawley will not give him the latest blood results that I wrote to his GP to ask to be done! This is despite having given results to us 4 times this year with no problems! Today

Still fighting for injections
Hi all My intrinsic factor result came back fine so told in range again no further action , so went to see dr today , she said no to injections and to try supplements , so I've ordered Jarrows. Should I change surgeries or self inject or I don't know!? I'm at a loss as my b12 is 168 I've asked 3 Drs

So much for my confidence !
Well a little while back I posted a rep!y to a query about people being forced onto tablets instead of injections......the nurse practitioner at my surgery had asked me to change but when I told her I have no Intrinsic Factor she agreed I would need to stay on injections. How wrong can you be..at a gp

I'm new here, would say hello to everyone
Hello everyone, I am new here but I have been reading the posts here for weeks and found that people here are very kind. I'd like to write about my condition and seek for help. My feet have been in pain for two months now and are getting worse, I can rarely walk in the morning, struggling to get to work

Why is it so difficult to Interact with G.P.s ?
Hello. This is my first post, although I have been a lurker for some time. I am 65, female, with many symptoms which brought me to this forum. I thought I was B12 deficient about a year ago after finding information by accident which appeared to sum me up completely. So, I started taking B12, but nothing

REST OF THE STORY
Continuing the result of my letter to the doc.Although I did have a win I am still battering the door down. His answer to the question of the 3 doses a week etc he said because I had not actually been diagnosed at this point with Pernicious aneamia Although the original result showed B12 of 132 and MCHC

At last I have copies of my test results!!
I finally got copies of my test results! If anyone has got time over the next few days would you mind taking a look 👀 I would be extremely greatful. I have a doctors appointment next week for my last plea for injections failing that I have an order on the way from Germany 🇩🇪! Serum B12 108 ng/L (

What's the Source of My Problem? Frustrated With Doctor's Response.
Hi all, Back in August I found out my B12 level was 267 and I was fortunate to be started on loading doses shortly thereafter. I am finally starting to feel better and have two weekly loading doses left (I live in the U.S., so it works a little differently here). I've been pushing my doctor to discover
