I am new here. Diagnosed with borderline B12 and Positive Intrinsic Factor Antibodies, last year. Receiving three monthly injections, after six loading doses. Would a Methylmalonic Acid (MMA) test reveal a more accurate reflection of my B12 status? I know a Active & Serum B12 blood test will be

RT (rheumatoid factor) of >450? IgM 2.8? calprotectin 90?
Hello everyone. I'm a 19 year old male. Not too long ago my blood test showed RF latex test > 450, which I have read indicates advanced disease. I've read a bit about rheumatoid arthritis and diseases associated with rheumatoid factor, but none, I think, match how I'm feeling. I don't think I have RA

PA test
I was diagnosed with PA this past October. The test is positive for Abnormal Intrinsic Factor. How do I know if this is autoimmune? Is there another test for that? The first test in April came back negative/equivocal, second time positive. I am from the US maybe we have different testing?? Thanks

Bloods sent away to test for Lupus. Been put on Pregabalin. Worried about Sjorgens. Any advice?
Hi everyone, Its been a while since I posted- my last post was that I had been sent for generic blood tests, which came back with vitamin D deficiency and I had slightly raised liver enzymes. A liver profile test was then done which showed everything as normal. However, I have had terrible pain in my

Hello, I'm new to posting.
I have been reading posts on here for a few months but it is the first time I have posted. I am 62 years old , a retired teacher. I was diagnosed with PMR in May 2016. I had been feeling very stiff in my neck and shoulders for a few weeks but put it down to a long haul flight back from Oz. I then had

Active B12 test - again
Went for my GP app last night. To be fair she was very nice, listened to me and spent over half hr with me. She is writing a referral note for Active B12 test that I can best obtain at a private hospital, as they will draw the blood too and use their own labs - result with GP in 2 days approx turn

Has anyone used pulse health screening for private blood tests? Huge price difference with blue horizon
Hi, I've been looking at private intrinsic factor antibodies tests as I'm due to start B12 injections on 27th jan after low b12 results on most recent blue horizon thyroid test. I can't get tested through my GP until after starting B12. Also have a huge phobia of venous blood tests. I've found 3

New Here and Think I'm Hypo, Have Long List of Bloods - Would Be Grateful for Thoughts
Hi, I've been lurking for a few days on here trying to get information as I have hypothyroid symptoms. I've found the site incredibly helpful already in trying to understand what is going on with me - now 52 and been to Docs over last 18months for various complaints which started with low libido. Thought

Lab Results for Hypothyroidism
Hi. Today I had my TSH, T4 and T3 checked and would like some advise on how to proceed. I'll note the more important lab tests but fair to say I definitely have had hypothyroid symptoms for a long time if not my whole life, though the situation worsened in late 2008 - early 2009 when I gained 70 pounds

Heart disease and Pernicious Anemia
Hi all, I have tested positive for Intrinsic Factor, with B12 at so called normal 348, G.P `trialled` 1 B12 jab with expected zero effect on symptoms ( physical & neurological ). Went back to G.P who asked what I wanted him to do - I stated request for loading doses, G.P said this practice gives 5 weekly

Any information gratefully received
I have AMD but had an inferior retinal vein occlusion in 2015. Seemed to be settled but have just had large haemorrhage and have macula oedema. Some vision loss led me to A and E at Moorfieldo this afternoon and they have referred me for some anti VEGF injections. May take 2-4 weeks to get appointment

Just had the worst week of my life!
Hi all. I'm pretty new here, I joined a couple of months ago and I have posted once or twice but never actually introduced myself properly. I’m 60 and I have ha PA since I was 22. Within the first few months of diagnosis I got the district nurse to train me to self-inject. I was on monthly injections

My pain has been very high for many months now. My question is regarding specific pain I am having in the tops of my feet due to swelling in the small joints and where the muscles/ligaments attach to the bone. I have been using lidocaine patches on my feet for a few months now. I am hoping for some

Intrinsic Factor test v Haematinics
would like to ask if anyone is aware haematinics in blood test is enough to without the Anti-IF antibodies test to find out if you really have PA conclusively that B12 is or isn't being absorbed properly? As my GP failed to provide the Intrisic Factor test which was requested.
