Things to do to hopefully stave off having an ablation?
I want to avoid ablation for as long as I can, not the least which is that often, it's not a "one and done" thing. After this last episode of SVT‘s, my EP increased my flecainide to the maximum dose per day. If I should have another episode of SVTs or a-fib or flutter etc, and the emergency room

Stopping Apixaban for colonoscopy
I am worried about stopping the Apixaban because of the increased risk of clots, which can occur if you suddenly stop taking
anticoagulants
. Has anybody had any experience of this please?

Don’t know whether to be annoyed about this or not...?
Hello community, So yesterday (2nd September), I received the follow up letter from our consultant following our consultation, the letter is dated the 4th of July. I’m due to test on Sunday, but the letter contains some pretty important about blood thinners which surprised me as it didn’t seem to reflect

As I have developed another clot in my heart despite being on Apixaban for the last four years. it is now suggested a low molecular weight heparin for a month before doing a TOE has anyone had experience of this drug and any side effects as I have an intolerance to drugs in general.

Implant or Bridge
Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Quick question, having paroxysmal AF and considering either a bridge or a tooth implant (fun fun), 50 years old, is there anything i should consider? I am not on blood thinners, just on Flec and Bisroprosol. Thanks much :) Andy

Blood clots
Hi all, I wonder if anyone is qualified to answer this question. I had a mechanical aortic valve put in around four weeks ago. Last week I was transferred to a rehab as it was my misfortune to suffer a stroke during surgery. On arrival they tested my platelets and found they had dropped from 300 to 27

Anticoagulant Breathless
It must be Bank Holiday in UK hence sorry to disturb you. Does anyone experience breathing problems when taking such blood thinners as Dabigitran, Xaralto, Apixiban etc. Problems such as breathlessness and air hunger which can be distressing. I take Apixiban and Amiodorone.

BFP WITH PCOS-- A DECADE'S WAIT
alright guys..got a BFP after a decade..and 3 previous failures of IVF with a positive history. To cut a long story short..if you are a PCOS patient and your eggs retrieved are just too many (20 embryos all blastocysts of 4AA grading in my case).. i guess those were bad embryos genetically. So this Yr

Update: Went To Hospital
I was terrified about going to the hospital because I wasn't feeling well. Afraid there was something seriously going on with me. Thank God I went to the hospital when I did. At first they thought I was having a heart attack, but soon confirmed it was blood clots in my lungs. Was admitted and spent

Mount Sinai study finds COVID patients were most commonly readmitted to hospital for respiratory complications
Return to hospital after admission for COVID-19 was infrequent within 14 days of discharge. The most common cause for return was respiratory distress. Patients who returned more likely had COPD and hypertension, shorter LOS on index-hospitalization, and lower rates of in-hospital treatment-dose anticoagulation

UTTER FRUSTRATION
I have an understanding GP who in the current restrictions I am grateful for. I spoke to her on Tuesday regarding current issues experiencing on phone appt. as there are no face to face and she got me in yesterday for a blood test. That was a little frustrating in itself as it was only one blood (assuming

Opportunity to be involved in an AF study
We have been asked to assist with research into the experiences of AF patients who are currently taking anticoagulant medications (specifically warfarin and rivaroxaban). The aim of this study is to gain a detailed insight into patient experiences when prescribed anticoagulation therapy for treatment

LA and COVID
Hi all, I hope you’re well! This news just came out. https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/88044 LA might lead to thrombosis in COVID-19. Not really a surprise though :) Anyway, they also mention that blood clots still occur with LA on anticoagulation with COVID. They recommend

Sperm DNA fragmentation - is marginally moderate damage a huge issue?
My husband has just had the sperm DNA fragmentation test done, following three miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy in the last year. He has fallen just outside of the normal range, which is annoying. Apparently 0-15% is low, 15-25% is moderate and 25% and over is high. His score was 16.9%. Does anyone

Apixaban (Eliquis) anticoagulant
Good morning everyone. I thought I would give you an update: If you have been following me, you will know that I have been taking Warfarin for 5 years During that time my INR was never stable - my target was 4 but my readings swung from 2 - 16.8. I was tested at least once a week (even when away on
