Was anyone else asked to take blood thinners after egg retrieval?
My IVF nurse has asked me to take Arovi following egg retrieval , however when I went in to have my egg retrieval, the fertility consultant wasn’t sure why this was requested as all embryos are being frozen and I don’t have a history of clotting problems. I called the clinic and left a message, missed

On the advice of my cardiologist I have started taking 5 mg Bisoprolol and 60 mg of Edoxaban. I was previously on 300 mg Diltiazem for many years taken as one dose daily . I was diagnosed with PAF around ten years ago and up until now I have been relatively lucky! I had a bad AF attack two weeks ago

My Hospital Update
Home today after another long hospital stay. I went to the hospital Friday morning by ambulance because I couldn't stand without feeling like I would pass out. I went to the Hospital 2 weeks ago and found that I had blood clots in my lungs. I was put on a blood thinner. Apparently, my dose was

CBD oil - is it suitable for pain relief for oesteoarthritis when you take any anticoagulant?
Reading about CBD oil claims for pain relief, been on
anticoagulants
for decades. Struggling with pain in the knees caused by wear and tear, surgery looks like it may be on the cards.

Does Xarelto cause an increase in heart rate?
My cardiologist switched my anticoagulant a week ago from Pradaxa to Xarelto. The day after I started, my heart rate increased from around 60-70 to 90-100. Although my heart rate has increased occasionally since my afib diagnosis, it usually settles back to normal with an extra dose of flecainide but

Ablation 8 weeks on
So I hope it is not too self centred/boring to give an 8 weeks on update on my ablation Quick recap 10 July first ever ablation two weeks NSR and very gentle on myself, then big disappointment as 2 solid weeks of fast afib resulted in needing cardio inversion and lots (8,75mg) of Bisoprolol daily.

Looking for insight here please. I started treatment for CLL last November; 280 mg daily. My numbers went down pretty quickly. I had headaches at first but that resolved. In March my doctor increased my dose to 420 saying he wanted my numbers to go down lower, faster. At this point my WBC was in

Anticoagulant Uptake in US
I have noticed that the Anticogulants seem to be much less used in the US for those with AF than in Europe, despite the evidence showing their efficacy of their prophylactic value of preventing AF induced stroke. It seems this is now also troubling EPs in the US, as this article notes[i]:- The data

Stopping Apixaban for colonoscopy
I am worried about stopping the Apixaban because of the increased risk of clots, which can occur if you suddenly stop taking
anticoagulants
. Has anybody had any experience of this please?

Things to do to hopefully stave off having an ablation?
I want to avoid ablation for as long as I can, not the least which is that often, it's not a "one and done" thing. After this last episode of SVT‘s, my EP increased my flecainide to the maximum dose per day. If I should have another episode of SVTs or a-fib or flutter etc, and the emergency room

Don’t know whether to be annoyed about this or not...?
Hello community, So yesterday (2nd September), I received the follow up letter from our consultant following our consultation, the letter is dated the 4th of July. I’m due to test on Sunday, but the letter contains some pretty important about blood thinners which surprised me as it didn’t seem to reflect

Anticoagulant experience
As I have developed another clot in my heart despite being on Apixaban for the last four years. it is now suggested a low molecular weight heparin for a month before doing a TOE has anyone had experience of this drug and any side effects as I have an intolerance to drugs in general.

Implant or Bridge
Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Quick question, having paroxysmal AF and considering either a bridge or a tooth implant (fun fun), 50 years old, is there anything i should consider? I am not on blood thinners, just on Flec and Bisroprosol. Thanks much :) Andy

Blood clots
Hi all, I wonder if anyone is qualified to answer this question. I had a mechanical aortic valve put in around four weeks ago. Last week I was transferred to a rehab as it was my misfortune to suffer a stroke during surgery. On arrival they tested my platelets and found they had dropped from 300 to 27

Anticoagulant Breathless
It must be Bank Holiday in UK hence sorry to disturb you. Does anyone experience breathing problems when taking such blood thinners as Dabigitran, Xaralto, Apixiban etc. Problems such as breathlessness and air hunger which can be distressing. I take Apixiban and Amiodorone.
