Blood thinners - any tips?
Hey lovelies, I’ve been on blood thinners every day for a week now and they are not the most pleasant. I’m on dalteparin but it’s similar to clexane which is perhaps more common. This might sound like a silly thing to say but the needle is so sharp and it hurts going in (I’ve had quite a lot of experience

Pulmonary Embolism
Dear All, what started as a possible DVT but remained untraced soon turned into the most excruciating pain that I have ever experienced: after having been carted off to hospital as an emergency and numerous painful enquiries, it appears that I have multiple clots on my lungs - Pulmonary Embolism. I am reasonably new and haven't posted before, but interested to know if anyone has been treated with Hemp Oil whilst taking
anticoagulants
.. I also have an inflammatory condition which I know it would help with the pain. Interested to know your experience. Thank you

Is the 'sticky blood' test worth it after recurrent miscarriage?
I had my follow up appointment with the consultant today after my third failed round of IVF. This was my third chemical pregnancy from my IVF treatment and I am concerned that tests are now required (NB: I am 33 and in a same-sex relationship with no known fertility issues). He has recommended doing

Blood pressure query
Hello 😊. I’ve always had great blood pressure but recently due to enormous stress in my life it’s risen to 141/100 at the worst 155/101. When the stress is taken away my average is 117/82. My doctor says I should start a ‘nanna’ dose of blood pressure meds and also to put me on blood thinners. My dad

Final Transfer: Should I carry my final embryos after recurrent miscarriage or should my same-sex partner do it?
The title says it all really! After initially being told we couldn't do reciprocal IVF mid-treatment, our clinic have now said that we can. I've got through 3 embryos so far which have all resulted in early miscarriages/chemical pregnancies (two at 4 weeks and one at 5 weeks). I've just turned 33 with

One or two?
Hi all. We are just taking meds for our 5th FET - we have 2 embryos left from our first collection and are eligible to transfer 2 and for another NHS round - just trying to make a decision. I'm not on a down regulation cycle this time no buserelin. Just oestrogen and progesterone and blood thinners

How long do I take meds after tissue AVR
Hi all, Just wondered generally how long people had to take the blood thinners (clopidogrel) and beta blockers (bisoprolol) for after OHS AVR with tissue valve. I have no other heart conditions. I’m 5 weeks post surgery and will see surgeon on Thursday so will ask him officially then but just thought

New diagnosis.
Hello folks. I’m a 67 year old man, a few weeks ago in the course of treatment on my spine, very successful, arrhythmia was detected, I was afterwards hooked up to an ecg machine, the low heartbeat alarm for less than 60 bpm kept going off. The staff nurse who took four scans put the fear of God into

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis
I had a CVST in November and am just learning what to do and how it’s impacted my life. I’m on blood thinners and it was caused by estrogen. Anyone else in this situation?

Advice please!
Hi, after an eye examination I've been advised that I have the very early stages of macular degeneration 'nothing to worry about at this stage' - apparently, but obviously annual checks are essential, and in the meantime, the very best thing I can do is to always wear sunglasses on bright days and to

Cryoablation for my Afib
Just wanted to say thanks for all the posts. I am 42 would say healthy. Started having Afib in Dec of 2020. Had 2 cardioversions in Dec and Jan which only kept me in rhythm for like 3 days each. Just had the Cryoablation this past Monday. Used general anesthesia and seemed like a non event. Recovery

Thapsigargin
Thapsigargin is an antiviral medicine that the University of Nottingham has found effective against a number of viruses including the covid. Boy, I tell you, the UK is really on the ball. I read about this on a place called SciTechDaily. The more treatments found, the better. Meanwhile here in the USA

COVID-19 Survey
Before the swab test could be sent to me, I had to go on line and answer some questions, but when I got to the part of asking whether you took
anticoagulants
, of course I answered yes because I have AF.

White fingers/? Reynauds post stents
