[i] Hello friends, today's story really moved me. I have so much admiration for Jane, who talks about her rollercoaster journey with weight management and chronic pain. Hopefully, her story below will inspire one of you today - as it inspired me. Don't forget to leave Jane a lovely comment below. [/i

Proton Pump Inhibitors
I note from posts that many of us are given stomach medications ostensibly to “ to protect the stomach”. In fact these PPI’s, omeprazole, lansoprazole, etc. act on the liver to reduce the amount of acid produced. In my case they induced fundic polyps to form on the stomach lining and I had to discontinue

Just over a year ago I had 1 stent after the discovery of 99% blockage to LAD artery. Scary but with time and a bagful of meds I have returned to work and in general have done OK. My meds clopidogrel, atorvastatin, ramipril, lanzaprasole, and Apixaban. At the time I was on warfarin I have a prior history

Advice please....
I suffer from paroxysmal afib, only get it once in a blue moon and when I've eaten something that disagrees with me i.e. barley/gluten products and I was put on Warfarin 5 years ago. However, my real concern is that lately, I've noticed my memory is not as sharp as it used to be, been putting it down

AFib and running
also have have been recently diagnosed with AFib. I have always kept reasonably fit and I enjoy running I am in my 50s. My AFib started in June 2019 when I was on holidays in Croatia. While sitting at the pool early in the morning after a 5 mile run and breakfast I suddenly felt my heart rate change

Blood clots in legs and lungs
How many ended up with blood clots in legs and or lungs? On Ibrance and Letrozole 3 months. Ended up with bad leg pain after walking, thought was muscle strain. (Was supposed to have reconstruction surgery end of month -and get on with life, heal, go back to work)! Went to ER 4 days later. 2 days later

Adding Herbal Products to Direct-Acting Oral Anticoagulants Can Be Fatal
This is a warning for anyone taking DOACs: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31508385 This man had just started taking a boiled mixture of cinnamon and ginger. He was given reversal agents, but this didn't stop the gastrointestinal bleeding and he died 3 days later. It doesn't say whether this could

Hi I am new to forum and have a question.
Hi my name is Jenny and I have been lurking since August when I was diagnosed with Afib. I have had an Echo Cardiogram which came back clear for any other problems. I have had a few attacks now, the last one being three weeks ago when they upped my Bisoprolol to 5mg daily. I am also on Eliquis Blood

Is the anticoagulant "Dabigatran" relevant to PD? Perhaps, but with some serious drawbacks
Interesting that the anticoagulant drug Dabigatran (PRADAXA) is getting press for the recent mice study which showed little to no memory loss in ALZ mice over a 12 month study period. When you think about both diseases, the transition to PD seems possible since ALZ and PD share many of the same, if

Lupus Anticoagulant - What and why?
Does anybody here know why this is tested for? I finally had some results from a long awaited rheumy consultation at the Bham QE and my bloods were as follows - ANA positive (as always, 7 years and counting) - no titre given, no pattern given Anti ds-dna - positive for third consecutive time - By ELISA

Finally a Diagnosis
Today I saw the second opinion cardiologist and he said that my recent echo showed moderate heart failure and changing my pacemaker for a 3 lead device (CRT?) may improve the symptoms of breathlessness and exhaustion on the slightest exertion. He has also started me on Ramipril, with a diuretic to be

Blood thinner
Has anyone tries apixaban instead of Warfarin? According to the NHS website it doesn’t need monitoring and you can use Turmeric and CBD OIL at the same time.

Pain in ankles and lower legs
I stated to have aching and numbness in ankles and legs once I started on Apixaban. Cardiologist changed my anticoagulant to Riveroxaban. I still have the same problem. Does anybody else find this?
