From January through to July 2022 I had recurrent throat and chest infections so went round the circle of
antibiotics
so having to come off the meds etc Eventually the Nurse Practitioner realised it was recurrent oral thrush due to the steroids.

Immunity Question
My Rheumy has prescribed preventative
antibiotics
to protect me from pneumonia. I've mentioned this before to this group and received some excellent feedback. Apparently, such a recommendation is common here in the States, but not so common in Europe.

Sourmouth
Dry sour mouth all the time. Started a few weeks ago but been on prednisone since April. Could it be that I was also on an antibiotic (bactrin) for UTI for 10 days and currentlyt i finished yesterday. Taking 20 mg prednisone and plan to reduce to 17.5 mg on 7/30.

Antibiotics and b13
I've just taken a 7 day course, 3x500mg per day, for dental reasons, and feel as if this is just the aftermath of
antibiotics
or my PA symptoms have returned. Had an injection the day after the course ended. My level of B12 high before the penicillin. Any thoughts?

tooth extraction
I am just finishing a course of
antibiotics
for a tooth infection and am having the tooth out on Thursday morning. Do I just take my normal dose with breakfast or should I up it to 8mg as a one off.

ANTIBIOTICS AND EYLEA INJECTION ARE THEY COMPATIBLE?
I may have to have a course of
antibiotics
from my dentist at the same time or close to an Eylea injection. Is this OK or can they affect each other? Should there be a time space between? Many thanks in advance

An update on my wife. With a question...
The doctor whom I spoke to via 111 who prescribed her
antibiotics
and an inhaler said he would have given steroids like Predniselone if he could have examined her lungs to hear them.

Antibiotics update
I’ve been very fortunate not having had a chest infection since my COPD diagnosis 4 years ago and before then I rarely needed
antibiotics
and, if I did, amoxicillin always did the trick!! So, this latest infection has been a steep learning curve.

Help please for daughter abroad
Then onto
antibiotics
and then a change to Flagyl which helped. She then had a Colonoscopy at another hospital which showed Colitis (by this time the infection had gone) She was given granules and steroids which cleared the whole thing up.

In hospital overnight as bloods showed unspecified infection, iv
antibiotics
and fluids. At 96 hes home with Rascal(cat) and looking much better. 🐈⬛ Shouldn't tempt 😜 fate but now hoping a wee bit of rest and recovery time. Good to be back. Best wishes to all. Dawn.xx

Is it Behcet’s?
I’ve been to the GP and they’ve tested for herpes which was negative, but have given me
antibiotics
anyway which haven’t worked. They’ve also done a blood test which showed nothing out of the ordinary and on that they have ruled out any immune system issues.

Mannitol challenge
I obviously don’t want to be taking the steroids; inhalers;
antibiotics
etc if I don’t need to - it would be wonderful not to have to take these, particularly as they have caused health problems.

Horrible taste from meds
Had aortic valve surgery and still on
antibiotics
(linezolid) as I had sepsis. Also on omeprazole, bisoprolol and and aspirin. I have a horrible metallic taste that is stopping me eating and drinking. Water and tea taste awful.

Haemophilus Influenzae
I'm looking for input from anyone on our site who might have had trouble with the organism Haemophilus Influenzae; or, anyone who is otherwise knowledgeable about it. I've just finished a fight with an upper respiratory illness over six weeks, and it was very similar to one I fought back in January.

Almost died of flu, pneumonia and sepsis - will the fear of death go away?
Quite a difference between the level of care in ICU and a general ward - there were quite a few care lapses, for instance was down for physio every day but only got about 5 sessions in total, and when I picked up a hospital-acquired infection and was put on a load of
antibiotics
with nasty side effects

antibiotics and AFib
Currently I have a cold and a bad cough and the GP put me on
antibiotics
on Monday and am wondering if that is something to do with this change. Is this a usual occurrence and is it to be expected in the blanking period?

aspiration pneumonia and trouble swallowing
For a moment, we feared we might lose him, but after a change of
antibiotics
he got better. Meaning the pneumonia got better. We are still VERY worried bc even though his blood tests show he is better, his overall situation seems bad.
