When to consider Chemo?
I’ve just started my journey fighting advanced PCa and am hoping for some advice from you guys who have lots of knowledge and experience. After a PSA result of 13.0, I had an MRI of the pelvic area and was diagnosed with Stage 4 advanced PCa in May 2022. Gleason 8, LN involvement and a quite large (

A rather scary cardio study for men doing ADT..
This has been studied several times, but I've never seen such dramatic differences in cardiac outcomes between men taking ADT and men who didn't. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2022-07-hormone-therapy-prostate-cancer-dying.html The summary article above said: [i]After making suitable adjustments to

Do any MOs handle cases remotely? Do I even need one right away?
Thinking of firing my current MO, in all fairness he has told me each of the 2 times I have seen him that he is not up on prostate cancer meds & treatment. Asked him about getting a Decipher test done, he did not know what it was and told me usually the urologist orders the gene tests. Half the time

Treatment Options for Gynecomastia
I have been on Lupron/Eligard since November 2018 with a nine month and a one year break. Gynecomastia (breast enlargement) has not been a serious problem until now. During the last six months gynecomastia getting worse even during ADT break. I just restarted my Lupron shot a week ago. I have also been

the " Magic " of Pheromones
Hi men. I have been thinking and wondering about this for awhile. I am a gay man and have been active since my mid-teen years ( 74 now). I know that the visual is usually important for attraction - but the continuum of what is attractive is constantly changing - though a constant is a pretty young

More calcium chat
A few weeks ago, a poster questioned the necessity of calcium + d3 while on ADT. Several responders seemed to suggest that supplementation may increase PCa risk. I am currently in my 16th month of leuprolide treatment. At the beginning of my treatment a bone density scan found that I was "mildly

27 months post 39 sessions of EBRT and completion of 3 years of ADT my PSA remains at <=0.08
Same boring repetitive news, my PSA remains at <=0.08 after completing 3 years of ADT (including 39 sessions of EBRT) for very high risk locally advanced (regional) prostate cancer. Never thought such boring repetitive news could be so joyful!!! I’m definitely in the VERY lucky category (obviously

PSMA shows nothing. Good news or non-news?
Past history is in my profile. My PSA went from undetectable in January 22 gradually to 1.7 in June. Had a six month Eligard shot 6/15, and a PSMA PET scan 7/18. I just read the report. It shows no activity anywhere. I'm a bit confused; is the ADT masking something or should I simply be grateful

HANGING UP MY SPIKES.
Well as you can tell I am leaving Health Unlocked (MaleCare) since regrettably my red carpet is frayed and threadbare. It’s ironic I am abandoning the ship just as The Constitution of Medical Knowledge is being implemented in dear old Health Unlocked. This implementation has nothing with me abandoning

Enough is Enough - Alicia Morgans, MD, MPH,
Thought this was interesting. When I saw the Director of Urology at a major NCCN institute in late 2016 for a 2nd opinion after surgery and SRT failed and I argued my case for triplet therapy, he said, no, he would only treat me with monotherapy, ADT, Lupron. Needless to say, I thanked him, left, went

Ending ADT Vacation
Today I had Lupron 3 month shot ending a vacation of one year. I had been on 50 mg Casodex for 4 weeks before this Lupron shot. Originally, it was planned for a 2 week on Casodex. Unfortunately, 2 weeks extended to 4 weeks because my wife got Covid 19 after a trip to London. On June 1 my PSA was
