Apparently some encouraging results using just lynparza and no adt in Brac2 patients----I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks. Ed

HANGING UP MY SPIKES.
Well as you can tell I am leaving Health Unlocked (MaleCare) since regrettably my red carpet is frayed and threadbare. It’s ironic I am abandoning the ship just as The Constitution of Medical Knowledge is being implemented in dear old Health Unlocked. This implementation has nothing with me abandoning

Thought this was interesting. When I saw the Director of Urology at a major NCCN institute in late 2016 for a 2nd opinion after surgery and SRT failed and I argued my case for triplet therapy, he said, no, he would only treat me with monotherapy, ADT, Lupron. Needless to say, I thanked him, left, went

Ending ADT Vacation
Today I had Lupron 3 month shot ending a vacation of one year. I had been on 50 mg Casodex for 4 weeks before this Lupron shot. Originally, it was planned for a 2 week on Casodex. Unfortunately, 2 weeks extended to 4 weeks because my wife got Covid 19 after a trip to London. On June 1 my PSA was

Does ADT always shrink prostate?
If you go on ADT (lupron 6 mo) and your prostate does not shrink, is that a sign that the ADT is not working?

Oxidative Stress (ROS), Sleep and the Gut Microbiome: Staying Alive
I am just back from a challenging (humbling) multiday backpack in the High Sierras of California. Very beautiful but drought conditions, dry stream water sources made it more difficult. Here is a pre-note on my own regimen: After completing my two phase radiation treatments for oligometastatic PC:

Orgovyx in the UK
Good morning brothers - just had my monthly oncology video appointment. One issue I discussed was potential use of Orgovyx (Relugolix) with Enzalutamide instead of Firmagon / Enzalutamide combo I have been on for 2 years. I know it’s used around the world & approved by FDA & taken by many of you guys

Between a rock and a hard place
I am 67 years old and ver healthy. However, I was recently diagnosed with PCa . My Gleason score is 9 in one sample and 7 in the other two samples from the 12 samples taken from my prostate. My PSA is 23.7, and pet scan indicates no met so far. My urologist advises that I see both MO and radiologist

Treatment Options for Hot Flashes
The hot flashes that I have been experiencing since starting my ADT treatments (first, Eligard & Xtandi, now Orgovyx) are limiting my sleep and the frequency of them has become more than just a little annoying. The change to Orgovyx was due to lesser cardiovascular issues. I have had increased heart

ED injections and OS/rPFS
My Urologist prescribed 30/2 Bimix for ED during ADT. I looked but couldn't find any studies that investigate its effect on OS or rPFS. Are there any? Don't want to throw away what's left of my life just for a boner.

Causes of Death Among Patients With Metastatic Prostate Cancer in the US From 2000 to 2016

Is it OK to start ADT immediately after biopsy or need to wait until after healing?
My husband has suspicious recurrence in prostate as well as BCR mets in lymph nodes, etc. He has been wanting to start ADT soon to treat BCR mets in lymph nodes but has to wait until after biopsy to confirm the suspicious uptake in prostate. The questions are: is it ok to start ADT immediately after
