after 10 years after Brachytherapy a petscan has indicated a 1cm sq tumour in a lymph node in the pelvic region.what a bugger. I saw the image on the computer screen of a speck of light - it's hard to imagine it was cancer??? the mri scan & the petscan confirmed no cancer in any of the organs

Seeking A Summary of ADT Side Effects
I'm wondering if anyone has a spreadsheet listing each of the ADT meds, their respective side effects, and probability (percentage) that patient will experience that side effect. I will soon need to make my decision. Thank you

Androgen receptor mutations for precision medicine in prostate cancer - Endocrine-Related Cancer, Review Article, Published: 17 Aug 2022
This is a very informative research paper on the mechanisms involved with current treatments that target the AR in PCa. Interestingly, it compares/contrast the actions (both as agonistic and antagonistic) of the ADT drugs (Bicalutamid, Flutamide, Enzalutamide, Apalutamide, Darolutamide, & Hydrocortisone

Father 67 was just diagnosed with stage 4 that has spread to bones!
Quick background of the diagnoses. His PSA went from 2.1 to 3.1 in a year then this year it shot up to 32. He’s a Gleason 7 and apparently has 2 bone Mets however my wife is going with him to clarify on Monday. He has met with the radiologist who has put him on the one month hormone therapy and then

Updated trial fails to show any real benefit to metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) in oligometastatic patients
Deek et al. combined two trials: ORIOLE and STOMP (n=162) with extended follow-up. https://ascopubs.org/doi/full/10.1200/JCO.22.00644 After 52.5 months median follow-up, they report: • Progression-free survival (PFS) was 11.9 mo. for metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) vs. 5.9 mos. for observation

L/T vs S/T ADT post SRT & WPLNs?
I just finished SRT & WPLN's and feel much better than I imagined (although going to dentist today about some small persistent sores on my gums that showed up last couple weeks of therapy and are slow to heal) . I've been on ADT for 16 months and last shot will expire in 2 months. PSA has been consistently

Decipher Score and ADT
I’m starting SBRT in a couple weeks at UCLA. I’ve posted elsewhere my stats. 62 years old, Gleason 4+3. 5/13 cores positive and large proportion of GG4, with cribriform. PSMA PET showed no spread, though the MRI stated there was possible ECE. So unfavorable intermediate, but close to high in some

define "metastatic"
Is this when it is no longer localized or anything outside the prostate. For example I had SV invasion, and bladder neck invasion as well as surgical margins. Does that fall inside definition of metastatic. Specifically , I am looking at the article by Ian Davis "Combination therapy in metastatic hormone-sensitive

My PSA After Radiation
For those who follow me- Radiation of my largest tumor after 10 years of ADT (Lupron and Zytiga) appears to have been "successful". My PSA had steadily climbed the last year up to a high of .32 and the doubling time increase was a concern. PSMA scan indicated "activity" in only my largest tumor. It

DOES MEDICARE COVER DEXA SCANS FOR MEN WITH PROSTATE CANCER
I have been on Casodex and Eligard since June 2022. My PSA was still high after RALP so I had a GA-68 PSMA PET Scan done which revealed one 11mm tumor in the Left pelvic Lymph Nodes and one 7mm Tumor in the Right pelvic Lymph Nodes. Those were the only 2 hot spots in my body. My Dr. scheduled me for

Starting Lupron ... Again
After a couple of delays I finally had the appointment with my MO regarding re-starting ADT. To review, I've been on a year long ADT vacation, my second vacation. This vacation was approximately 18 months after completing RT. A PSMA scan showed 4 small spots on my ilium very close to my previous mets

Are men addicted to testosterone?
Men's brains have a lot of androgen receptors, and androgens (mainly testosterone (T) and DHT) affect such brain functions as mood, aggression, competitiveness, libido, motivation, spatial ability, and other attitudes and behaviors. Thyroid Hormone Use in Mood Disorders: Revisiting the Evidence
Discussion about using thyroid hormones in psychology and psychiatry is all too rare. For that reason, even short papers like this have their own value. It is not that there haven't been papers - but there aren't that many and, by the time we see them, they can appear as if they are historical documents

Advanced PC with a 90 years old
Hello all. My father got diagnosed in Oct. 2019. His case has been summarized in the profile. He's castration sensitive. After some readings, I'm not sure if the decision to switch from Bicalutamide to Enzalutamide is the right decision. Should he stay with Bicalutamide? Should he take Trelstar shot
