Update - ADT with Zytiga Failure (Castration Resistant) after 6 Months (PSA 90.3); Firmagon still Working; PSMA PET Scan Ordered
I came right out of the gate with Gleason 9 Stage 4 Advanced Prostate Cancer with more than 5 Metastases in January of this year. Firmagon brought the Testosterone down to < 7 almost right away, but PSA went to 160. Zytiga and Prednisone were added in March and brought the PSA back down to 5. The PSA

4 Months ADT or 6 months.
My MO put me on 4 months ADT with 37 Radiation treatments for a recurrence. My RO suggested 6 months ADT with 37 radiation treatments. Confused.

Hopefully a happy new year for all
Just a rambling, approaching the new year again and realizing that I am close to a 5 year survival person. Met a man who is with a friend that has been surviving for over 23 years, he had cryogenic treatments twice, on and off ADT, chemo a few times. He kinda watches his diet and my friend which is

Erleada, Zytiga, Xtandi and other 2nd Generation Hormone Therapies may be "Double Agents": BEWARE!!
See this MUST WATCH video by Dr Eugene Kwon starting at about the 7:35 minute mark for a an eye-opening discussion about "Paradoxical Responses to Therapy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEToOBuca1Q . I was on Erleada and the exact thing happened to me. Even though I had a PSA of 0.2 recently a CT scan

On ADT? No PSMA Scan for You
I just read an article that long term ADT greatly reduces the effectiveness of a PSMA Pet Scan. Based upon this I conclude that if you are ADT you won't be getting a PSMA scan. Can anyone confirm or deny this? If you go off ADT how long would you have to wait to get a scan, if at all? Would this limit

Radiation and BAT
SOC is ADT and radiation. I haven't found any clinical trials concerning BAT and radiation. This article is interesting though. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26831716/

More in Zinc, Clioquinol, and Cabergoline for Prolactin
This is a very important topic to understand. I have learned much from the linked article’s references showing the inter relationship between the loss of the zing transporter ZIP1 in prostate cancer, and then the contributing effects of testosterone and of prolactin in maintaining and progression to

Zytigia mechanism of effectivity
Hi. Sorry for what might seem a dumb question. Can someone help with a query about the mechanism of effectivity of zytigia. Is it effective (for some) because it keeps T low or is there some other action? If ADT e.g lupron etc is keeping T low and PSA stable what is the added benefit of abiraterone

FYI, PEACE-1 recommendation validated by second opinion I received yesterday at MD Anderson, Jacksonville, FL
First, here is a current summary of my condition: * Age 65 * DX in late November, 2021 * Low PSA (4.68), High Gleason (9 - 10): 12 samples taken during biopsy and all 12 had either a 9 or 10 Gleason score. * Lymph nodes above and below the diaphragm "lit up" during PET SCAN in early December

PCa-specific Survival after Radical Prostatectomy Is Improved by Metformin but not other Antidiabetic Drugs
New study from Finland below [1]. "Only postdiagnostic metformin use was associated with reduced risks of PCa death {53% reduction} and ADT initiation compared with nonusers." While Metformin users would be predominantly diabetic, it looks as though "nonusers" inxlude non-diabetics. "insulin and insulin

Hormone treatment
I was wondering, my father just passed away. How long treatment with hormones a male body could endure? Saw over the years his mussles reduced, his sterngth dwindle. And his lust for life he always had reduced to zero. His last medication enzalutamide caused a mayor collaps of his endurance. These times

Tips for minimizing cardiovascular risk of lifelong hormone therapy
They recommend: • addressing CV reversible risk factors • involving a cardiologist upfront if 2 or more risk factors; endocrinologist if diabetic • using orchiectomy or GnRH antagonist (Orgovyx, Firmagon) • monitor BP, waist circumerence/BMI, serum lipids, HbA1c • aerobic and weight-bearing exercise

Prostap v Lupron
I have just had my first 3 monthly Prostap injection following 2 x 1 monthly injections. I believe Prostap is similar to Zolodex. I notice that many of you mention Lupron. Can anyone explain the differences and am I on the best option for ADT? One further question is that I am yet to have my hormone
