Changing from hydroxy to Analgride
Following post from 10 days ago, when I was taken off hydroxy due to
anaemia
, I had appt. today, & will be having another bone marrow check, & possibly blood transfusion shortly. Looks as though I,ll be going onto Analgride instead. Can I ask people please how they found this changeover?

Serum ferritin level & RBC count help please
Hi there, just wondered If anyone could please tell me if a Ferritin level of 44ng/ml and a RBC count of 3.76 (whilst actually already taking Ferrous Fumerate 210mg twice per day) is still pretty low and ‘could’ maybe be the reason I’m still feeling exhausted/heavy tired legs?? Thank you in advance

a newby to Lupus
Hello folks, I was only diagnosed with lupus a few days ago, after six months of being told I have stage4 CKD, currently at 21% .Eight years ago I was diagnosed with severe
anaemia
by my GP, which with retrospect I think was a symptom of Lupus and the cause wasn’t looked into.

B12 and nerve regeneration
Starting in the 1990s, and continuing until my diagnosis with B12 deficiency in 2021, I had a series of problems with piriformis syndrome, sciatic nerve pain, and similar involvements with leg nerves. In searching around for related B12 information in Google Scholar I came across this article: https:

Pernicious Anaemia Day 12 October 2023
the Pernicious
Anaemia
Society is announcing the first "day" to raise awareness of Pernicious
Anaemia
. We've chosen the 12th because, you know, B12! and October because historically it's when many historical figures in the field of PA and B12 were born or died.

Platelets increase
My mun was diagnosed with thrombocytosis around 3 yrs ago. She has been on Hydresan for these years but during the past two blood tests she had to take her platelets went up to 600 in the first one and the second one was 700..We will contact her doctor but is this something to worry about? Ever since

recent bloods advice please newby
The wonderful admins on the thyroid group suggested it Could be pernicious
anaemia
, as most folks usually have more than 1 autoimmune disorder.

B12 or something else?
Hi About 2-3 years ago, during lockdown when it was difficult/impossible to see a GP, I started taking B12 supplements 3-4 times weekly. Whilst not wanting to diagnose myself, I felt I had little choice given the GP situation, plus my daughters are B12 deficient, and had the same symptoms as myself

Other tests done recently were: B12 - 240 - I have pernicious
anaemia
and am getting B12 injections off the GP but am supplementing with injections of my own as 3 monthly isn’t enough. Ferritin - 16 - have been prescribed ferrous sulphate off the GP.

B12 or folic acid first?
My daughter has just been diagnosed with B12 and folate deficiency, The likely cause is poor diet so I’m happy not to pursue injections at this stage. Her GP has prescribed B12 and 5mg folic acid, both in tablet form. Please can anyone confirm which she should take first and for how long before
