High Urate Levels Symptoms?
I've just turned 50, and been having a few symptoms of generally unwellness. Pain in the back / Kidney area. GP thinks I may have pulled this, but I wasn't so sure. Also intense Brain Fog, confusion, memory lapse now and again, with fatigue and tiredness. It feels like my head is being squeezed and

My resting heart rate has improved a bit recently. I’ve just

taking thyroxin
hi jack I used to take mine in the morning. But have changed it to just before bedtime No coffee or tea for an hour before you take them Caffeine stops the thyroxin working fully So I’m told I also don’t eat anything after 9 and take the tablets around 12 midnight I have found it works

I’m only on second round of six total. So far, labs are looking good except LDH is slightly higher than normal. I, like you, ask my oncologist for info. Mostly, I focus on how am I doing today…. What’s my energy level, status of my hands and feet (hand and foot syndrome for which I use Voltaren

3 am protocol for T3, please tell me about it?
Please could you tell me what I need to know about the 3 am protocol for T3? Does there need to be a gradual transition from split dosing? Anything else I should know? I have been on T3 only for some years and recently have been very tired and depressed, for me the usual symptoms of being hypo. T3

Nd Thyroid to thyroxine
Hi, I have Hashimoto's thyroid and Endoctrinologist has advised I move from NP thyroid to thyroxine. I was sent for Ultra sound by my doctor and had difficulty getting a follow up as he was on holidays for 2 months. I had to get online doc to refer me and only had report of ultrasound so not the scan

A few Things ….
1. I had an ACTH test yesterday as my recent cortisol level was low. I was told my TSH would be tested but not T4 and T3. However when I got there, it was a full thyroid profile being done. I had breakfast in the morning but no caffeine. I had a small bowl of plain porridge and nothing else, except water

Update to last post: What does T4 do?
Hi Thanks for all the help when I asked the question about T4, while prepping for my appointment. The appointment went well, I got a GP with ears! GP wanted to discuss the last endo letter saying that I can't have T4 increase unless I agree to give up my "self medicating habit." I explained that I

Blood test timing dilemma: advice please
Can you help me figure out how to get round this one please? The last few times I’ve done blood tests, I’ve followed the process advised here and done the test as early in the morning as possible. However, my endocrinologist had a bit of a hissy fit at this (the timing, not that I waited till after

Liothyronin T3 and insulin resistance
I’ve been doing some research as my blood sugar levels (measured by HbA1C) have been persistently high despite exercise, low carb diet, weight loss and muscle gain. Prompted by the very wise SlowDragon that T3 can cause high sugars, I decided to delve deeper. I came across a lot of articles online

Weird feelings following reduced dose of thyroxine
A few weeks ago my thyroxine dose was reduced from 100 to 75mg. I had no warning, just a decision my GP made. I've been on various doses over the years, but 100 was felt to be the correct one for me. The past few days, I've been feeling like I'm shaky and unsteady. I've been giddy when bending over

New results after being discharged by endocrinologist.
Hi I will add my previous post but I will also give a quick recap: I first came on with low T4 levels but TSH in range. The doctors did regular tests saying it wasn't being tested properly. I eventually got referred to an endocrinologist. After a while of more testing I was discharged and told that

How should Levo dosing work - a 101 explanation needed please
sorry my brain is mush. I have read a lot of posts, tried Dr Google etc. I could do with a really basic explanation to help understand what my Endo is likely to talk about this week re: Levo dosing. what I think I know… Levo replaces what’s missing, T4. This results in lower TSH and higher T3 (assuming

What does T4 do?
I've been treated for 25ish yrs for hypothyroid & take T4 & T3 (self sourced.) My TSH is suppressed, which makes perfect sense to my non medical slightly addled brain. Of course my previous GP didn't like it and because I refused to stop my T3, slowly took away my T4. I've been dealing with B12d for
