Lactase Dehydogenase level high!
I started seeing an MPN specialist on July 1. He tested for lactase dehydrogenase and in was 242. I just had it repeated and it is now 327. My platelets rose from 648 to 725, wbc went from 13 to 16. HCT went down a little bit from 48.3 to 47.5 which I think both are high for female. I am really bothered

All in the head……..
Woke around 5 feeling very spaced out, tinnitus raging, blurred vision and so scared. These mornings seem to follow a good day. I have left off Lactulose for 3 days and taken a dose this morning, it has had desired effect. I smell of very strong ammonia and really don’t know where to turn. Gastro

How to encourage someone to seek medical support (who has turned their back on this due to prior negative experience with consultant)
Hi, I'm hoping that someone can point me in the direction of a positive source of support for someone who has turned their back on formal medical support because on a negative experience with consultant. They were hospitalised with liver failure back in 2011 and formally diagnosed with cirrhosis. There

Dopamine.
https://youtu.be/EeRLIeglwZw Info starts at 57 The only thing I thought was interesting was when he said when you're using dopamine make sure you're supporting your detox pathways, with glutathione ect.. because the body will make ammonia, a lot of hydrogen peroxide and dopal.

Is it safe to dye hair in the 2nd trimester?
I read conflicting opinions online about dying hair in pregnancy. I usually use Herbatint which is ammonia free. What is your experience?

No link between milk and increased cholesterol according to new study of 2 million people.

My PBC Journey
GI watched enzymes for 5 years 2015-2020. No symptoms except GI sent me to Ohio State in Dec of 2019 to make sure she wasn’t missing anything . Ordered MRI of liver—-best test to slice and dice liver. Found two spots of cancer on top ridge of liver and did a Microwave ablation to kill it. Successful

So a politician dies.......
And ends up standing in front of the pearly gates. Saint Peter looks at him for a second, flicks through his book, and finds his name. ‟So, you’re a politician...” ‟Well, yes, is that a problem?” ‟Oh no, no problem. But we have recently adopted a new system for people in your line of work, and unfortunately

Conclusions of my organic acid test.
Gas chromatographic-mass spectometric analysis of organic acids in urine showed slightly elevated concentrations of 3-hydroxypropionate with 36 (might be an artifact from bacterial contamination; normal range<25) and lactic acid with 75 (normal range<50) mmol/mol creatinine: Other organic acids, especially

Lactose in Levothyroxine and Lactase enzymes
Since Levothyroxine contains lactose which is a problem for many of us would it help to take a Lactase enzyme at the same time as our T4?

Consolidation 9 - 5km and Ammonia Smells (!)
Did another 5km yesterday and a slight improvement on my time which i'm pleased about - 8'51" so I just need to keep it up to keep improving. The air was very cold which meant my warm up walk was a bit longer than the usual 3 minutes. I'll keep this clean but after my run and as soon as I went inside

Frustrated and dejected
Hi, so my father had been discharged from the hospital with heavy ascites, no endoscopy was performed. He went there for a simple constipation on his foot and ended up spending a week. His constipation was solved within minutes but doctor offered to drain his ascites and they did a drain of 2.5litre.

Not allowed to drain ascites
Hello, my father had HE because he was constipated and it raised his ammonia level. Now since he was fined lot of IV based medical fluids, he has large ascites. Doc is saying it’s not safe to remove the water as it will come back quick and removing it may also put him in coma stage. They are not willing
