Knock wood... AFib continues to be in check
I've been working at 6,800 ft/2,100 m as a Camp cook in the San Bernardino mountains for the past two summers and roaming the Santa Ana River Valley peaks at 10,000-11,500 ft/3,000-3,500 m. A month ago, I went in for a routine visit with my lead cardiologist (I had a massive heart attack 11½ years ago

Tired of all of this
Untreatable high blood pressure for several years. Tried over ten BP meds, nothing works. Kidneys failing. I know I have blockages they are not finding. Very frustrated, tired and afraid. This mornings BP was 200/104. BP skyrockets when I lie down horizontal. On CLonidine patch, which is

Insurance. Visit, stay with family
Hi, My son and his wife would like us to visit and stay with them for three months next year. They are happy to come over to the uk from Bulgaria and drive us back. Had a By pass 8 years ago, relatively fine for age 78, can walk a few miles not rushing. Breathless on inclines but probably to do more

Blood Pressure Disaster - Part Deux
The saga continues. So finally my Primary Care doctor is back from vacation and I snag an appointment. My blood pressure since the change in medication has been high and my nephrologist just keeps upping the doses. I was at 150 mg of Metoprolol (is that a record?), 320 mg of Valsartan and 20 mg of

Blood Pressure Meds side effects
Hi, I’m Steve 57 yrs old and I have tried two different types of Amlodipine for high BP, although the meds do lower my BP I have they both give me very red sore swollen fingers. The doctors keep saying it’s not the meds and it is dermatitis, but I absolutely know it’s the meds as both times the problem

Low BP
I've used Amlodipine for long time to help Raynauds, recently BP has become quite low so have stopped Amlodipine. Has anyone used Naftidrofuryl as it has been suggested as doesn't lower BP.

Doxazosin
My GP has suggested I try Doxazosin as an alternative to Amlodipine that I currently take to see if it stops the light headedness and tinnitus I have been experiencing. When I was first diagnosed with high BP in December 2023 I was started on Enalapril but had to change to Amlodipine as I suffered badly

Undiagnosed: Likely stress cardiomyopathy, MINOCA
I'm in my mid fifties and had an ACS event about four weeks ago (chest pain radiating in a band around my chest and back, weird electrical feelings down both brachial arteries) with raised troponin (100, raising to 1000) and spent four days in hospital. EGC showed inverted T on the bottom line of the

Most of us here have Tinnitus, we all react differently to the Drugs. Some Medicines work better for us and not for others. I am trying to collect some research data, to also help myself, as I have pretty bad Tinnitus & to try some different Medicines that might work for me. There is a lot of info out

Spironolactone
I'm aged 63 years. I am currently taking Bisoprolol, Amlodipine, Ramipril, Warfarin, Aspirin, Atorvastatin, Omeprazole and Spronolactone. I have been on the same medication for around 10 years, having had an Aortic Valve replacement 12 years ago. Until recently, there have been no problems with the medication

No meds
Hi everyone I finally had my results of the MRI done Feb 1st. It showed previous peri myocarditis and some decrease cardiac intake . The cardiologist told me that this result should not be the cause of my daily chest pain .I asked about the myocarditis and he said it could reoccur and will need anti-inflammatory

Nice cuppa with a side of palpitations 😂
I've had palpitations since December. Also on Amlodipine for high BP since January. I'm currently waiting for the results of a 24 hour ECG to see what's going on with these palpitations. Just recently I've noticed that while I'm drinking any hot drink it seems to set off palpitations almost immediately
