A doctor has finally listened - but has suggested something other than lupus
Some of you may remember a few weeks ago my post about numerous GP/Rheum not listening, this is an update in my journey. Following the instructions of the GP - I rang back to get a repeat prescription on my 2x500 a day Naproxen I was taking for joint pain and swelling in my knee. I got through to a

10 weeks post Lap and still in pain!
Hi, I had my Lap just over 10 weeks ago now and my recovery has been very slow and painful with me going back and forward to the hospital but they do not seem to know why I am still in pain. During the lap they removed my right ovary, tube, cyst and ant shedding. When I went back and spoke to my surgeon

Amitriptyline 10 mg
I’ve been suffering with unexplained teeth pain for years now and nothing has helped. I saw a brilliant neurologist the other day who actually explained things to me. She said that due to my teeth pain and not eating as it hurts to much that I have no muscle left. Low on lots of vitamins and liver problems

Neuropathic pain linked to endo?
Hi there, So, I had a telephone appointment with my gynae on Friday and he said that it sounds like my pain is neuropathic, something to do with my nerves. He’s prescribe me a low dose (10mg) of amitriptyline to take every evening. Has anyone else had this? Does it help? Do you need them daily?

Has anyone tried Nortriptyline?
After 23 years of IBS with the last 4 years being virtually daily I am at the end of my rope. I have tried absolutely everything recommended for this awful complaint and nothing has helped. I really need to do something as I live in constant fear I have something serious (despite a clear colonoscopy

Fibromyalgia flare up
Hi, I am looking for advice please, I have had fibromyalgia for 5 years, I am having a flare up at the moment and the pain is bad. I am so exhausted with it and stiff everywhere. I managed to get a call from the GP who has prescribed me with Amitriptyline, I’m a bit concerned about taking this? Any advice

Finally being heard!!
I've just come off a call with my new gynae, we spoke a few months ago so this is my second time dealing with him and I literally sobbed the second we ended the call because for the first time in 6 years I actually felt heard and like he genuinely wanted to help. The second I mentioned how horrible

Amitriptyline & ADHD
Hi all, About a week ago, I started on amitriptyline for chronic pain, and since I about 2 days ago I've noticed my ADHD getting worse. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this with amitriptyline or any kind of similar pain medication? I know it's a shot in the dark haha, but figured

Costochondritis treatment
Had a phone appointment with my gp yesterday , recent tests have ruled out cardiac causes so I have to do two weeks of peak flow tests as I get a very tight chest with increased heart rate walking uphill and send the results to her , she said it could be linked to my costochondritis . Has anyone had

Amitriptyline
Has anyone been prescribed amitriptyline for pain relief and has it worked? Been upped now to 30mg for pain relief (they’re very keen to let me know it’s not as an anti depressant!) and it’s doing nothing at all.

Anyone currently on gabapentin…
my pain management consultant has suggested pairing gabapentin with either amitriptyline or duloxetine to get the best out of both pain killers. They have synergistic qualities when together.. is anyone currently on a these or have any experience with it? Looking for any advice or feedback please? 💖

Morning nightmare.
I hate the mornings as I never know how things are going to be.That dread feeling. I try to keep busy to take my mind off of it.I don’t eat breakfast only have a cup of tea. Then all of a sudden I have to go.It starts off a normal bowel movement then the last little bit is hard to pass but it’s loose.I
