Post Ablation breathlessness
The second one he had was while taking
Amiodarone
and this was still holding him in NSR 8 weeks later when he had the ablation. He felt better after this one and the breathlessness diminished but not as much as it did after the first one. Since the ablation he has stopped taking the

what on earth am i supposed to do...cant have anti arrhythmia meds?
I was on
Amiodarone
but i was advised to stop taking it August gone due to side effects.
Amiodarone
has a very long half life (up to six months) so i suspect i have had some protection even though i stopped taking it in August.

Mitral Valve Af and fed up
Cardio version worked for 5 days so was put on
Amiodarone
200mg along with the usual others, Apixiban, Nebivolol. The
Amiodarone
messed my thyroid about so was put on a higher dose of Levothyroxine.

dronedarone
i’ve been on
amiodarone
very successfully since a successful cardioversion last August but recently blood test showed effect on my thyroid so I’ve been switched to dronedarone which I haven’t started taking as yet.

Puzzling Tachycardia
I have been on
Amiodarone
(100 mg) for the past four years.
Amiodarone
helps, but I still get Afib episodes at least two times a month. My current question is as follows: About four to five months ago I developed a new heart condition (this is in addition to my Afib).

Amiodarone
HiMy cardiologist has advised that I should start taking
Amiodarone
to help my AF. Done a bit of reading/research and looks like some high risk side effects. Grateful for any views from people that have been using
Amiodarone
and their experiences- good and bad. Thank you.

Afib Medication
Doctor prescribed
Amiodarone
- bad side effects stopped using Bisoprolol - bad side effects stopped using The doctor said to stop using and if I wanted to go med-free and I have no symptoms go for it. Which I have since. I am on a list for a consultant to assess. Could be a while!

Cardioversion with amiodarone or straight to ablation?
Heart function team suggest course of
amiodarone
combined with further CV after a few months of this medication. They have left it with me to consider what I would prefer to do.

Experience of reducing amiodarone dose below 100mg?
Does anyone have experience of reducing their
amiodarone
dose below 100mg per day? Mine was reduced from 200mg to 100mg two years ago because of my heart beating madly when I stood up after sitting down for a bit, or going upstairs.

Detecting undiagnosed AF
I was the subject of a paper (available on the Internet) on pulmonary toxicity (aka cryptogenic organising pnuemonia) secondary to dronedarone and
amiodarone
, so you might say that my AF is well documented. I signed up to the current OurFutureHealth study.

AMIODARONE SCARE
Emailed my EP and told him and he said it would probably take around 4 weeks before the
amiodarone
would be at full strength as supported by clinical studies.

Cardioversion
First on
Amiodarone
which kept me on NSR . As it was too toxic, my cardiologist insisted change on propanolol 2 yrs ago.But AF became permanent . Now my EP insists on cardioversion if not ablation before putting me on flecoidine . Any opinion?

I’ve been put on the dreaded
Amiodarone
by my consultant whilst I await an outpatient slot to discuss ablation. I was on the usual loading dose which was reduced gradually to one tablet per day. I’m still getting afib every day.

Do I need an ablation?
Also I’ve only had one episode of AF in the last six months although I was on
amiodarone
and now on dronedarone . I’m having the ablation under general anaesthetic and I’m concerned that both the general anaesthetic and the ablation itself will cause me to feel very unwell afterwards.

Persistent afib treatment options, can't tolerate Amiodarone - so many questions...
Plan was take
Amiodarone
then cardioversion. My husband can't tolerate
Amiodarone
(tried twice) so we are now a bit stuck and waiting for the hospital to get back to us.

weight loss wehovy and AF medication
However, I would have to switch to
Amiodarone
, which I decided against and stuck with Flecainide. Then, I had another cardioversion 12 weeks ago, and unfortunately, I'm now back in full-time atrial fibrillation.

2 lead pacemaker to CRT PM
Cardiologist has stated a short term therapy of
amiodarone
may help get me back into normal sinus rhythm but I'm not keen on taking this medication.

Ablation cancelled due to my weight!
He has now prescribed
Amiodarone
(7 days intensive, followed by a lower dose) and a return to the dreaded Bisoprolol (which I had terrible side effects with a couple of years ago, which I posted about on here) albeit at a lower dose.
