how to get off amiodrone
The hemotologist and other cannot find a medicine I can replace the hydroxyurea with because the few available react with
amiodarone
, ... I need to replace the
amiodarone
. with another medicine so that I can have a medicine that will allow the ulcers to heal instead of the hydroxyurea.

for 4 weeks post surgery last September. So
Amiodarone
was stopped 7 months ago. I was on 3 3/4 grains of Armour Thyroid for Hypothyroidism before surgery. Been stable for years on this dose. 16yrs on NDT.

I Too Have Persistent Afib
I was taking
Amiodarone
medication which caused internal bleeding. The result was blood in my urine. My cardiologist switched me to Eliquis medication, 5mg at 10AM and 10PM and I no longer have blood in my urine and my Bradycardia is under control.

Sleeping tablets all change - but
Amiodarone
matters. quite toxic but works and I don't like the alternatives, Flecainide for example. What next?

Ablation
I've been on
amiodarone
since then originally at 200mg and reduced in December to 100mg. I had no episodes of AF since last August and my life improved dramatically. Last week I went into AF which persisted for 12 hours before reverting normally.

Amiodarone Dose
I’ve been prescribed
Amiodarone
. The 1st week’s dose is 200mg 3 times a day then 100mg per day thereafter. I’m just enquiring if anyone else has taken a daily dose of 600mg daily for 7 days when starting this drug?

amiodarone
I forgot to say the dr also gave me
amiodarone
to take. 1 tablet of 200mg three times a week. One on Mondays then one on Wednesday and one on Friday. I have to carry on like this until they get me an appointment with a rythmologue. He will talk to me about having an ablation or not.

Waiting for ablation
I'm now on the list for an ablation and stopped taking the
Amiodarone
in October, a year after starting it. As far as I'm aware I'm still in sinus rhythm (based only on feeling my chest and pulse). The nurse said there was a chance I'd stay in it given the long half life of
Amiodarone
.

Experience with amiodarone
My arrhythmia nurse took me off flecainide because of the atrial flutter and put on solatol which didn’t keep me in rhythm and Iam now in persistent AF and prescribed
Amiodarone
. I have read so many negative comments and side effects I am scared to start this drug.

Post Amiodarone and waiting for ablation
I was on
Amiodarone
for 12 months after diagnosis of persistent AF post Covid and stopped taking it in October '23. I had a cardioversion in June and as far as I'm aware I'm still in sinus rhythm. I'm on the list for an ablation at the John Radcliffe in Oxford.

Daily Dronedarone is helping!
Another change along the way changing my carvedilol and
amiodarone
knocked me way off where I ended up back in cardiology so it was put back the way it was ,which was fine ,but I was on
amiodarone
then it was stopped and I was getting AF so I have a monitor inserted which was very painfull but necessary

Still in AF 25 days post ablation.. do I take Amiodarone?
I'm headed for a cardioversion in the next couple of months and the arrhythmia nurse has asked my GP to prescribe
amiodarone
. I've been on
amiodarone
before, for 12 months, in the run up to and after a successful cardioversion.

Amiodarone and AF
Been on
amiodarone
and pleased to report not a single flutter since. Had transformed my life. Cardiologist wants to reduce my dose and later change me to another drug. Does anyone have experience of this. I’m nervous about what effect will be as
amiodarone
been working so well.

Hi all I'm newbie. Anyone here have lung damage due to Amiodarone treatment?
Side effect of
Amiodarone
causes pulmonary problems that can't be reversed. Can't understand why it comes and goes after goes after about a week. Incidentally, I was on
Amiodarone
for exactly 7 weeks an 3 days. What should I do? Does anyone on this forum have lung problems due
Amiodarone
usage?

Mitral Valve Af and fed up
Cardio version worked for 5 days so was put on
Amiodarone
200mg along with the usual others, Apixiban, Nebivolol. The
Amiodarone
messed my thyroid about so was put on a higher dose of Levothyroxine.

what on earth am i supposed to do...cant have anti arrhythmia meds?
I was on
Amiodarone
but i was advised to stop taking it August gone due to side effects.
Amiodarone
has a very long half life (up to six months) so i suspect i have had some protection even though i stopped taking it in August.

Amiodarone
HiMy cardiologist has advised that I should start taking
Amiodarone
to help my AF. Done a bit of reading/research and looks like some high risk side effects. Grateful for any views from people that have been using
Amiodarone
and their experiences- good and bad. Thank you.
