Breathless and difficult digestion. Other autoimmune?
Hi everyone. I wonder what advice you might have for a guy wrestling with Hashimoto's. My main symptoms are fatigue, exertion to breath, bloating, sometimes it can be tiring to stand but I don't know if this is more to do with being bloated and breathless. finally, although it seldom quells my appetite

Stopping vitamin supplements before a thyroid test
I am due for an annual thyroid test as my medication needs reviewing. I take vitamin D, omega 3 (fish oil), magnesium glycinate and vitamin B complex supplements. I know that I should stop taking the vitamin B tablets as they contain biotin but what about the other supplements? Should I stop taking them

A strange meal in an Italian restaurant
I was in London over the weekend supporting friends and family running the London Marathon. At the end we went to an Italian restaurant that had a couple of vegan options, but these did not appeal since they seemed heavy in nightshade plants. So I ordered 3 side dishes to come together as a main meal

Steroid injection for OA in shoulder
I experienced severe pain in shoulder at 8mg of Pred, and increasing dose had no affect. An X-ray showed bone on bone OA. I continued with taper now on 7mg. and shoulder pain has virtually gone. I think it flared up with too much use on recent holiday, and existing conditions do tend to assert themselves

Dreaded AA again !
I do not understand why Alendronic acid is still being prescribed. Having been diagnosed with osteoporosis, I took it for about 6 years which is now known to be far too long. As a result I sustained fractures in both femurs, a year apart, both now pinned but definitely stated as caused by AA. I

Itchy Scalp for months - slightly hair thinning but no visible scalp issues.
For the last 5 months, I have been suffering from an itchy scalp, primarily on the crown of my head. This happened essentially overnight and after scratching for a day, I coincidentally saw that my hair had thinned slightly in those itchiest areas by the next day. I went to see a General Practioner a

Bone scan
Today I have been for a bone scan. I expected it to be ok. Unfortunately it wasn't. I have osteoporosis score of minus 3.4. I have been refusing alendronic acid as it is contraindicated for people with barrets esophagus my gp did not accept this. So again hand in pocket I am seeing someone privately

Alendronic Acid
Do you know if it’s ok just to stop taking alendronic acid or should that be tapered too? I’ve been on it for a couple of years and the latest advice seems to be that two years is enough. My GP and rheum is may not agree!

HIFU and Metabolic Control
Good day fellow brothers and sufferers. This is my first post and my story. I am in the UK, so all of my treatment, whatever it entails is totally free of charge, so cost has no part to play in my treatment choice. I am 68 years old. In February 2018 I had a routine PSA – came back at 4.8ng/ml UK units

How much fat do we actually need?
There are some on this forum who think they need to eat a high-fat diet. There are others, like myself, who eat a predominantly low-fat diet. So let me ask how much fat is in your diet? Can you give an idea is terms of either weight or calories per day? Do you think that is enough? Why is it enough

PMR 101
Good Morning All I was lucky enough to be able to attend the meeting @ Artizan Library yesterday in London and learned lots from Dr Kate Gilbert. Glad to hear PMR & GCA are becoming of interest to researchers. I think some well known celeb or royal needs to get it for it to become a fashionable disease
