Good morning all, it's a lovely day on Englands south coast and the sun is shining. Getting to my question, I need advice please. Newly diagnosed in early May with PMR. Put on Pred 15mg all symptoms and pain disappeared the following day. Felt great and after 3 weeks tapered to 12.5mg. No issues. Further

Low Calcium
Hello, I don't know if this forum is the appropriate one, but I need to get a malabsorbsion mystery solved. I have just received a call from GP regarding blood test results. She mentioned that my calcium is still under range. She asked me if I eat high calcium food. I told her that I crave dairy products

Some comment about FDA and new drugs for #NASH, also I need your help with a letter we will be sending to FDA. 8 questions I need your help!
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L28VFRM I recently wrote about our concern that the FDA had reset the clock on OCA, obeticholic acid, which is the first potential treatment for advancing fibrosis due to NASH. The core of my objection is that it was done without patient input. As patients, who face potential

Supplements and thyroid test
Am I right in thinking that I only need to stop taking my B complex vitamins for 2 days before I have a thyroid monitoring blood test? I take omega 3 oil, Multivitamins and D3 in addition. Thanks x

Should I see a Rheumatologist?
I was diagnosed with PMR in January. Started on Prednisolone 30mg and now down to 20mg. I am also on blood thinners, anti cholesterol, stomach protection and now Calcium and Vitamin D with Alendronic acid. Would love to reduce medication particularly the Alendronic Acid. Should I see a Rhumotologist

6 weeks of heavy bleeding
I’m at a bit of a state at the minute and any suggestions are welcome. Long story short year ago came off everything to give my body a break stopped Zoladex Mirena coil came out. Great until 6 weeks ago pain is back worse and heavy bleeding so bad I’m doubling up on protection and having to change in

Alendronic acid
Hi, I've been on pred 4 yrs almost now. Currently on 3mg. Mum has had PMR for years and her oesophagus is shot to pieces. She is 91 but struggles hugely with eating and has regular bouts of sickness. Because of this I refused Alendronic acid originally believing it to be the main culprit for her peptic

Alendronic Acid
Had a fall at the weekend resulting in a broken wrist. It is an uncomplicated fracture but I have a feeling that the Rhumatologist will try to put me on Alendronic Acid and this is something I really dont want. My first reaction would be to ask for a Dexa Scan to see if its really neccessary and if

Medicine/Supplement Regime (Mucuna etc)
I just thought I'd share my dad's current medicine regime in case it will help other people. After so many months of trial and error, we have finally found a dose that works for my dad. He takes it every 2 hours and 45 minutes with little freezing, has less dyskinesias, not much pain, a better appetite

Taking Alendronic Acid and Adcal.
I have Valvular Heart Disease,Angina and COPD. I also have Calcified Blood Vessels. I was reading that if you have Calcified Blood Vessels you might be better off by not taking any Calcium tablets. I'm not sure what to do about it, whether or not to take the Calcium tablets or not. I know that none

Tranexamic acid
What’s your experience of Tranexamic Acid? I’m currently on week 5 of heavy period after coming off everything a year ago. Had coil removed and stopped Zoladex injections to give my body a break from over 10 years of drugs. I wish I hadn’t. The pain I thought was quite intense is nothing compared to
