Omega 3
Hi all, hope everyone is feeling well. My husband has CLL and has been taking Ibrutinib for 3-years. I just wondered if Omega 3 is something you can take with CLL or should it be avoided? I have read a lot about it’s benefits, but not sure if it’s suitable for people with CLL. Many thanks

Obeticholic acid
Hi everyone I was diagnosed around 5 years ago. Unfortunately I am not fully responding to first line treatment Urso. The Dr's are suggesting that I should start on Obeticholic Acid. I'm a little apprehensive due to the side effects listed. Is there anyone here who could advise please? Tia 😊

Elevated parathyroid hormone?
Is there any research, data, or personal experience with having parathyroid levels, but not blood calcium levels, become elevated while taking alendronate? I had been on alendronate very successfully (no side effects and a stabilized DEXA) for about 6 months when my TSH to monitor my decade long hypothyroidism

denosumab injections
Hi Everyone, I’m hoping to get some advice so I can make an informed decision about treatment with denosumab. I am 61 and I had a small hormone-related breast cancer removed at the start of 2020. Subsequently I went on Letrozole which I couldn’t tolerate. They changed me to Anastrozole which I’m ok

Expiration date
After reading about the (supposed?) shortage of B12 in UK, I, too, am wondering if PanPharma’s shortened expiration date from 2 years to one year has contributed to this perceived shortage. Have we gotten the final answer on why PanPharma shortened their expiry date? Does anyone know if the inactive

Anyone clued up on bone health please?
I recently had a bone scan and was very concerned to learn that there had been severe degenerative changes to both my spine and hips which weren't expected as my scan 3 years ago wasn't bad. They did take me off Alendronic Acid 18 months ago at which time I also went gluten and dairy free (found out

Diagnosis Issue
Hi All, I have been having issues with my periods since they began but the last 3 years have gotten much worse. Every period I have seems to be worse than the last. After a lot of back and forth with the GP and having tried the pill, mini pill and coil over the last 6 years, I persuaded them to refer

Dosage of Ursodiol
Looking at my M2 Antibody levels from the last 2 blood panels, it looks like I have PBC. My other levels, GGT and Alk Phos are within normal range. My doctor has prescribed Ursodiol for me to treat the PBC and the dosage seems high. I am to take a 500mg tablet in the morning and a 250mg tablet at

Osteoporosis/alendronic acid
I have had a reasonably uneventful PMR journey so far 🤞. Diagnosed April 2020 slow pred reduction from 15mg now reducing 5.5mg/5m. I also take lansoprazole15mg/ vitamin D 800iu as prescribed by my GP since first diagnosis ( she said my diet was high enough in calcium) and following advice on this invaluable

My rheumy wants me off of prednisone as soon as possible
First of all, thanks to everyone who replied me, and gave me valuable advice on my previous post. This is an update. Previously, I mentioned that I wasn't happy with my first rheumy appointment as she thinks I don’t need steroids because my inflammation markers are in a normal range and this is not a

Omega 3 supplements- increased risk of cardiovascular disease?
I recently read on a Grassroots Health newsletter that recent research has shown that B vitamins don’t work well without omega 3. (I can’t be more specific than ‘don’t work well ‘and I’m not sure there was a reference - but I’ll find a screenshot. I take a B complex So I started supplementing with omega

Egg collection results
Finally the wait is over. The dr called me to give me results for my EC. Out of 4 eggs 2 were matured and fertilised and 1 didn’t make it. I take comfort that I have 1 embryo that is now frozen. It is a 3BB @ day 6, he mentioned the best would have been 4AA just to give me an idea of where we are (this

I've read that many fish oil supplements are rancid and low quality, but I've also read that the linseed i usually take doesn't have as much omega 3 as animal sourced options. What brands are recommended...

REMs scan result
Hi everyone, just wanted to share my good news with you all. I broke my back after a high impact fall from my kitchen worktop onto the floor in 2020. I had to fight for a Dexa scan after being advised to start bone meds. I had the scan last March results as follows. Dual Femur total -1.5 and lumbar spine

Does anyone use supplements/vitamins to help ease ADHD symptoms? My son is on medication and I read that Omega-3 is good for kids.

Alendronic Acid and Pred
My friend who's a long term sufferer of pmr (11 years) was down to 2.5mg but after a mishap had to back to 5mg. She had a review with a new young GP who told her that if she went back on Alendronic Acid, this would help her get off pred. Has anyone else been told this? Wouldn't we all be on it
