Fatigue, Mood and Diabetes
I am new posting but I have read a lot here and it is fantastic support. My position is that I began treatment for PMR with 15mg Pred daily on 25th May 2023 and have been tapering, most recently on a 1mg/month basis, and am now on 5mg. I have just seen my rheumatologist who wants me to stay on the

Hi all, I’m new here, but I’ll try to be as brief as possible! I’ve been treated for Hypothyroidism since 2004 ( diagnosed by the late, great Dr Gordon Skinner by my symptoms and not the biochemistry thankfully) All well for past 19 or so years, on T4 125ug and then T3 4 x 20ug added gradually 12

Sussex hospitals no longer giving fT4 result on thyroid function tests
Hello, Writing this post in case it helps prepare others rather than for advice (but feel free to advise if you wish!). I had a blood test last Friday not because of hypothyroidism but the test included "thyroid function". My results came back with just TSH being reported, no fT4 as I have been used

Blood test results in full. Can anyone find a cause in there for my continued fatigue etc?
I still have the same symptoms, although some have improved a bit, but not gone, by any means. Still housebound. I list below Blood test results. Can anyone suggest an issue that may cause my symptoms because my GP says no action, normal. Serum 25 - HO Vit D3 level 135nmol/L 50-174

Management of Carbimazole/hyperthyroidism and other symptoms
Hi all, I’m new here, I’ve written out my history in my profile including all test results so won’t go into too much depth. Essentially found to have hyperthyroidism in October and have been on 15mg Carbimazole a day since then. The doctor openly told me she ‘doesn’t know much about hyperthyroidism as

Confused and scared and looking for insights :-)
Hi all :) I'm a little confused about what's happening in my body and am in the middle of investigations. To cut my story as short as possible: - Last May and again in June I had a very subtle rash on my cheeks that lasted a day each time. It was accompanied with itching over my face, up the inside

Anticipated endo appointment 🤦♀️
Hi everyone ❤️ As some members will know I posted a few days ago that my gp will not do my repeat prescription for my T3 until I see an endocrinologist, for which she is doing the referral. As I told her I've got around 7 possibly 8 days of T3 left. Obviously I'm going to need to contact the surgery

Need your advice, pls, what should I take and how?
Hey all, I've been on a bit of a journey, unwell for the past few years, diagnosed 2012, did awesome on thyroid meds until...I didn't. Since I have now all cofactors optimal (vit D, B12, folate, iron, ferritin - after iron IV, magnesium), I feel my problem either stems from cortisol issues or balance

Endo prescribed T3 but GP won't prescribe!!
I have had a long thyroid journey, starting in 1981 with hyperthyroidism following the death of my father. Fast forward to 2000 when I became hypo. Since then I have had varying amounts of thyroxine, and was happy on it until I had breast cancer in 2021. The anti-hormone treatment for preventing recurrence

blood results
Been on 50mcg for a few months and have recently been feeling awful again, so I requested repeat bloods. Results came back today: TSH 4.37 (0.3-4.2) T4: 13.8 (9-19) T3: 4.6 (3-5.4) really hope the doctors won’t argue about an increase to 75mcg 😭 I feel so shoddy doing even minimal increases so

high thryoid levels but back to bradycardia?!
Good evening. I am seemingly fully replaced on a combi dose of Levo and Lio and generally feel quite well in myself, can tolerate exercise and lead a normal life. My partner commented that I was breathing very fast at night so I have started to wear my apple watch again after a few months leaving

Thyroid and blood pressure association
Id welcome any views on the relationship between BP (high or low) & thyroid. A quick search on this forum indicates relatively little information but some anecdotal evidence that hypothyroidism can raise BP. But a scientific literature search is less clear (see below links & some key comments): https

Help and Advice
I have been suffering some time now ( years perhaps ) with debilitating symptoms such as exhaustion, puffy face, coldness, constipation, dry skin, hair shedding, muscle aches and more recently severe numbness and pins and needles in my hands. I thought this may be the onset on menopause as I am now

follow up to previous post. Help please.
Hi all, I previously posted on behalf of my Mom. TSH, B12, folate and vitamin D below was taken 21/12/23. GP prescribed 50,000 unit 1 a week for 6 weeks vitamin D caps. So we see the ones called calceous 400 unit with calcium 1 twice a day did not maintain her level. So that could be one reason why she

Iron infusion progress- labs
Hey all, Two weeks ago I had iron infusion of 500 Monover. It was a bumpy ride (more in my previous posts). I had tests done today if it worked and here they are: Iron = 71 (50-170) up from 39 Ferritin = 260 (range up to 200), went up from 37 Does anyone know if it's normal to have still lowish iron
