Rawtastic or Rawful? Is raw food right for your body?
It is a commonly held belief in the “health world” that eating our food, live and raw is the best way to get all the vitamins, minerals and enzymes we need. Bone protection
I have had a really rotten winter asthma wise with each cold or infection needing several weeks of pred to sort it out. This meant I spent most of Dec and Jan on pred (either 40mg or a quick reducing dose) with only a few days totally pred free between courses. I am currently 16 days into another course

Igg testing ---food allergies. Does anyone know about this. Is there different Igg antibodies? I searched but was unable to find that info.
I saw a Allergist yesterday. Unbelievable, the only dr. I found in the United States to try to help me. She listened to everything I had to say and she believed me. She had some answers, to why i felt so much pain after a blood transfusion, bad bug bite, etc... But guess what she trained in Europe &

Nooooo surely it's to early for hayfever
The last two days I have got up with a headache from hell, no I didn't have fun the night before. I think I have hayfever. I vaguely remember this from last year, but I am getting up and out the door a lot faster now. I use a nasal spray as soon as I get up but it takes a good hour to clear my head

Pred and skin prick testing
I'm having allergy testing repeated for various reasons, but one thing I'm confused about: does being on pred long-term-ish (about 4 months now, 15-40mg at variois times) affect the results of skin prick testing for allergies? I've looked it up and found conflicting answers. I've also rung the AUK nurses

Allergies/rhinitis etc
So...last year I managed to develop hayfever. I thought it was a mild seasonal thing. I don't really know what I'm allergic to because the tests come back negative, but I think it must be at least some trees (cons said presumably not the ones tested for but agreed if I was reacting around certain plants

New here -consultant referal - what can I expect?
Hi all, I'm new here. Thought I'd sign up and ask a few things since I've been lurking the forum quite a lot over the past weeks and it's been very useful. I was diagnosed about five years ago by a respiratory consultant I was refered to due to anaphylaxis/general allergy issues (no allergy specialists

Drug Allergies!
Since being diagnosed with Lupus I have developed soooo many allergies to drugs, it's now becoming a worry. I'm allergic to most types of antibiotic, different brands of some meds make me ill and even my anti rejection meds have caused allergies. My doctors tells me this is due to my Lupus - has anyone

Asthma Allergy Drug That Killed
Hi All Newbie Sweep here. I have been a long time asthma sufferer since 8 years of age, I am now 60 and for the past 40 years have not had an attack. If anyone wants to ask a question, please do. However I have a request for help! Back in 1979 my brother aged 24 at the time, was encouraged by his GP

Presently on Cimzia but seem to have developed food allergies - which I gather is one of the side effects. Anyone else experienced this?

Bronchiectasis. Other connected mild conditions. When I first saw the consultant after 2 years misdiagnosis, he said nasal drip, allergies.
and acid reflux (I am sure the last is from all the medication), but now the bronchiectasis is getting worse so are the allergies. (coughing is bad enough but constant sneezing is a pain). Does anyone else find these condtions getting worse at same time. Also does nasal drip go down into your lungs?

Hypothyroidism and blocked nose?
I have just started on levo (6 weeks, just 25ug per day) and have suspected hypothyroidism for at least six months (probably much longer). I have always had problems with a blocked nose even there is no obvious cold/allergy (I do suffer from hayfever). It has got worse the last few months and still getting

School Application - Is asthma an exceptional medical reason
I am just starting to fill in my sons application for reception year at school next year. He has a few allergies (egg, nut, diary intolerance) along with Asthma. He has had pneumonia and pleurisy associated with it while we learn how to manage the condition - a steep learning curve for us. We also have

Glucose intolerance..... help
Hi all, I'm new to this, so i apologies now for anything that i may repeat that someone else has said... I'm going to do a bit of a rant, so please excuse me, I'm just so fed up. My colon was removed 7 years ago for IBS, chronic constipation as well. Since then I now have allergies, I'm allergic to
