Hello. Well I have not been on or posted for a whole ,simply because fortunately I have been managing to control it until about 8 weeks ago. I've been to gp and hospital and seemingly I'm ok. However , in my mind I am now all of a sudden allergic to everything , balloons , nuts , seafood , new moistirusers

Once again organic food
I found this article and video very interesting. Unfortunately not all of us can buy organic food. I wish the price of organic food would go down but also for foods that have chemicals added to them to be less affordable. Governments know the cost to our health when our food is sprayed with chemicals

Oat allergy and "Gluten-free" bread
I do not (now) have much immediate reaction to gluten... but I called the doctor when I had my first ¿anaphalactic? "attack"... and he thought I had had a heart attack - and sent me off in an ambulance to the cardiac unit. Gluten allergy was diagnosed by a private allergy specialist - and it never registered

Allergies and B12D - issues with new work environment
3 weeks ago I started a new job and the smell pervading the new office makes me really sick. Within an hour of being in it I have weeping eyes; sore chest (sternum area); painful, sick-feeling stomach; tingling, numb lips; throbbing ears that feel hot inside. After 3 hours I feel dizzy and sometimes

Allergic diseases increase the risk of adult-onset asthma.
A Finnish study found that the more allergic diseases an individual has, the higher the asthma risk. The number of allergic diseases increases the risk of adult-onset asthma especially in individuals born after 1940, according to a study published in the Allergy journal. Approximately one in ten Finns

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY
I've been reading the National Review of Asthma Deaths after the news last week on the increase in asthma deaths. I was diagnosed with asthma in January this year (54 with no history of asthma), after a hospital stay I'm managing very well on anti-histamines (over the counter) and Relvar Elipta 92/22

Can antihistamines help during an asthma flare up ?
Hi everyone! As I am still struggling to bring my asthma under control, I was wondering if antihistamines (desloratadine) could potentially ease the symptoms or stop an ongoing attack that has been lasting for hours if not days ? I am very concerned about my asthma right now because I am going through

Allergy Testing
I went for a private allergy test and was told I had sensitivity to yeast and cows milk. I've eliminated these from my diet and after 6 weeks my asthma has improved a lot. I was prescribed Pred, Fostair, Montelukast and Avamys and am on a waiting list for an injection. Now I just have a puff or two

Mild COPD with Seretide 125
So things are getting confusing. My FEV1 is 70% which by any UK guidelines I have read is moderate. However my patient notes state all the spirometry results and declare that I have mild copd (which I am happy to accept!). I have been put on Seretide 125 twice a day and Salamol. I spoke to the BLF

Stomach acid-reducing drugs may raise risk of future allergies
I really don't feel the need to say much as an introduction after all the PPI posts here. However, I shall take one sentence from the paper:
We report an epidemiologic relationship between gastric acid-suppression and development of allergic symptoms.
And then suggest, while PPIs might have their

Second CT scan
Hi everyone, thought I would write again. Being tested for suspected Asthma, had x-ray, CT scan, spirometry and allergy test last week. Just got letter in to say doctor has referred me for another CT scan in October...Not sure why, I suspect I may have a bit of asthma, but I feel my lungs are restricted

Quinolones
This topic has been posted before however I do not remember seeing collagen mentioned. I suspect collagen is important to the spine and changes or lack of replacement has an impact on the initiation of atrial fibrillation. When I get time, I will post a better explanation about why I think this. The
