Alendronic substitutes
I want to come off Alendronic acid. I remember PROpmr suggesting Magnesium. Which one? There is Mag Phos and Mag citrate. Will either do and what is the difference? I will also take Vit D, as I understand that is good too. I’ve just had a bone density done which is within normal limits. Have had PMR

Choline Risk in Vegan Diets
There was just an item on the news just now about choline a vital brain nutrient. Vegans, and vegetarians already know they need to ensure an adequate intake of B12, omega-3 and calcium. The main sources of choline are eggs and milk. Here is the article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-49509504

A BIT OF A WARNING ON USING MEDICAL MARIJUANA (MM) AS A SLEEP AID AND THE USE OF MELATONIN 123 AS ANOTHER OPTION FOR SLEEP PLUS TWO OTHERS
In a previous reply to a thread about using MM as a sleep aid, I mentioned that although I did not think it was addictive, I felt that it could easily become a regular part of your going to sleep routine and in that sense, possibly habit forming, so I suggested mixing it up with the "melatonin 123" method

GCA Sufferers Please be BMA (Be More Aware - than me!)
I have been a GCA sufferer for over ten years (6 months of Polymyalgia). And I have made mistakes - and sometimes - I just haven't been told or been made aware of important factors. I have Hashimotos with positive TPO and TG antibodies. My TSH is 1.01 (0.55-4.78) free T4 13.3 (10-20) 33% through the range

Anyone have trouble sleeping / falling asleep after stopping Amitryptiline? i know it is a sleep aid, so naturally when stopping your body has to adjust.. how long will it take before my sleep gets better?

Dexa Scan
I requested a referral for a dexa scan from my GP as Alendronic Acid has caused me nasty side effects possibly due to having irritable bowel issues. I have just been informed that there is an eight month waiting list. Is this waiting time normal in the UK? Would appreciate some feedback please.

My progression over ten or so years
Do note that three of the scans were on same machine and one was on a different one four months ago. What I did: I took one dose of Prolia on April 25 which I will discontinue, but I have been taking the following since end of May early June - probiotics - Vit K2 MK7 from Natto daily - vit D supplements

Small update after liver biopsy and blood work
Just wanted to make a follow up post. I mentioned in my first post my hesitation to get a liver biopsy. I went through with it and along with my blood work the results still seem inconclusive. My doctor said biopsy showed some fatty liver, no fibrosis but some bile injury. I plan to make a new appointment

Alendronic acid
Hi I have two very conflicting reports on AA. I was prescribed it whilst on 5mg pred some 4 months or so ago. I didn’t take it as dentists threw their arms up in horror! I took their advice as I was having implants and have one other bout to go through. This morning my doctor told me I must take

Big news. Shocking improvement
Just did a DEXA although different machine. Reading has improved in FOUR months (with loads of interventions including one shot of Prolia which I will discontinue) from average -3.2 (worst reading -3.7) to -1.7 (worst reading -2.2) in spine!! I will discontinue Prolia and continue everything else Magnesium

MMA Test...is urine or blood best?
I am going to get a private MMA Test done to try and clarify if I have a B12 deficiency as my Dr refused to test m. I have a few questions... Should I buy the blood or urine MMA Test? Should I only do the Homocysteine if the MMA test is high? Do I need to stop any supplements beforehand ? - I currently

Bisphosphonates and Afib
Due to breast cancer 20 months ago which was estrogen positive I have to take Anastrozole which is a AI (aromatase inhibitor). This can deplete bone density quickly hence I had to have a dexa scan which found I had osteoporosis. Due to this I was prescribed Alendronic Acid which had awful side effects

Help with getting diagnosis
Hi, I'm not even sure if I'm in the right place but I'm becoming increasingly desperate to find out why I'm in pain so much in my pelvic region. I'm sure I have endometriosis but both laparoscopy and mri clear. My periods started when I was about 12 and were always extremely painful and heavy. I
