Recently been diagnosed with Bronchiectisis
Hello My name is Terry, I am all new to this so sorry if this is a bit to long. I work as a postman so am normally fairly active as I walk around 9 miles a day, I also normally go to the gym a couple of times a week so I would say I am reasonably fit. I started getting breathless back in early 2019

I know there are some schemes such as the gsk one where you send back inhalers but I know mmay people are not

Major thanks to all for advice given re peak flow and inhalers. Now taking a preventer I no longer need a reliever and increased peak flow from low 300's to now 500 in just 2 weeks.

Inhalers without counters??😒
Hi everyone...... This conundrum is making me batty.....does anyone have a reliable way of knowing when the bloomin inhaler is nearly empty?......without tallying every time you use it?? And why, does anyone know, does clenil sometimes come with a counter and sometimes not......and ventolin never does

Hi I’ve recently been diagnosed asthmatic following a nasty chest infection in Jan as breathing difficulties continued. I really am in the dark here & a little freaked out by the whole struggling to breath scenario. I have a blue Salbutamol inhaler and was originally given a brown QVAR inhaler but after

Bronchiectasis and allergic to certain antibiotics
Hello, I wonder if anyone else has this experience. I have had a chest infection on and off since Christmas. Sputum results showed staff or strep (can't remember) but it is the bug that is normally treated with Doxycycline or Clairythromycin. Unfortunately I throw up with the former and when I tried

Montelukast not working
Hi all, I posted on here now long ago. I’ve been suffering with my asthma the past 6 weeks now (I usually don’t have any problems with it unless I have a cold). I have been on prednisolone, two courses of antibiotics, a new inhaler and now montelukast. I have been on montelukast for just over a week

Inhaler reliability/consistency/misfire
Hi everybody, I would like to raise an issue and do a straw-poll to see if others have the same experience. I use an 120puff preventer inhaler - should give 30 days at 4 puffs daily. However, about 2-3 weeks in, just about every month the inhaler stops firing properly. The volume and pressure of propellant

Why is it that Asthma is portrayed so awful in movies?
I am watching Hitch, and yesterday Goonies was on tv (I have the tv on for company while I clean my house), and both movies show characters who are weak, nervous, and geeky. The. They get confidence I. Themselves, and throw away their inhalers like they have grown personally, full of confidence. This

Newbie
Hi All, I am new here and uncertain on just about everything surrounding this forum and my new found condition. Around New Year time, I was coughing continually. It was so bad that I found myself using an old inhaler that my daughter was prescribed for suspected asthma some months back (she is fine now

This sounds like a stupid question, I know.
I wonder if others are clearer than I am about susceptibility to any respiratory viruses if you have asthma? I am thinking if your asthma is otherwise well controlled, not if you are going through a bad spell. I am asking as both my husband and I are over 70, so currently clinically vulnerable, but he

Ventolin inhaler -v- salbutamol generic inhaler
I feel better with the genuine ventolin inhaler rather than the generic one. Does anyone else have any advice on this?

Amniodorone
I am taking .. Fostair inhaler, losartan potassium, bumetanide, amniodorone , warfarin. Since starting the amniodorone, prescribed by a registrar in my GPs, I have had swollen feet. It was given to bring my blood pressure down. Would it be o.k. to cut the dosage in half and see if that helps. I don't

Spiriva not working - broken?
Good morning everyone. I have been taking Spiriva and Fostair for three years. They are great. Last week whilst using Spiriva in my usual manner I saw white mist escaping from the sides of the mouthpiece. Now my asthma is well controlled 24/7. So the next day when I used Spiriva I took in a massive breath

Seretide 250 to fostair
So I had a telephone consultation on Monday with the respiratory consultant and we agreed that my asthma is not controlled. So he decided to change my inhaler from seretide to fostair. I have a bit of an odd question for anyone that has been on both. When I take my seretide inhaler, it really speeds

What on earth do I do now??!🥺
So, as some of you will know, I've recently restarted C25K after being very poorly again in the new year........now, I've gotten to week 5, run 3......and by gum, despite 'teething troubles ' and a bit of experimentation to get my inhalers just right, I was thoroughly enjoying myself. God, how I love
