Odors and stress as triggers in poorly managed asthma
When my asthma is poorly controlled, I get airway constriction within seconds from odors (fragrance, cooking etc) which goes away with a rescue inhaler (if the odor source is removed). I understand that the odorous chemical itself is not an "allergenic" substance. Is the pathway of the constriction

Slowly but surely.
Was just getting used to impared breathing due to the hot weather. When my on the phone review came up. So now, just finished four days steroids. 6 tablets every morning. Didn't have any real effect for two days and then felt a lot better but now struggling again. I suppose it's all those chores I had

Lost inhaler
Hope all are well. Just back from a 4 day break away, just what we needed! Anyway I have somehow lost or misplaced (or put somewhere safe) my Fostair inhaler. I don’t have a spare, but have spare ventolin. I last took it yesterday morning (sat) so have currently missed (almost) 3 doses. I take Fostair

Salbutemol alternatives?
Hi. I daren't use my Salemol relief inhaler because it makes my tremors 10 times worse, well, so bad I can't live independently with it. My hands and fingers are all over the place. Are there any alternative inhalers which don't do this?

taking seretide (advair) and Qvar together
Hi all -- Has anyone's GP or specialist ever OKed the use of Qvar and Seretide together? I've been taking Seretide 500/50 during the current exacerbation and for the last year. It kept me alive, but not enough to work and live a normal life. 3 days ago, out of desperation, I started using Qvar100 as

Do inhalers help for COPD
Hi, I have COPD I believe it's moderate, I was diagnosed around 8 years ago after I had given up smoking, it was mild at that time. Since then I have tried numerous inhalers and have not found that any improve my breathing. Does anyone know if they are to help improve breathing, or are they to stop

Cleaning spacer
Hi as you see in pic when the flashlight is shining at. Is that residue from inhaler or suds from cleaning the spacer and them drying into the tube after leaving it to air dry or was that already there before I used it. How do I remove it.

Positive ANA speckled test - MCAS
I was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome earlier this year but the treatment hasn’t helped much. I have weekly bladder instillations and have been on antibiotics since Feb. I had a cystoscopy which showed biofilm in the bladder. I also have gastro issues and sensitivity to food - MCAS diet

O2 saturation and heart rate
May I ask if anyone takes measurements of O2 saturation during asthma attacks? Do you see numbers drop significantly during attacks? I know my asthma is bad when I cannot talk in sentences and must lie down to let it pass. While lying down, the heart rate is at 130 and stays until rescue inhaler kicks

Asthma spacer
Hi I clean my spacer every 5 to 7 days and use soapy water with anti static cloth for cleaning inside tube only when washing it to remove residue from inhaler as without cloth just washing it in soapy water doesn’t reduce residue or medicine stick in tube but I use a fostair inhaler with a aerochamber

Prednisolone Underactive Thyroid
Hi I wonder if anyone can put my mind at rest. I have been on high dose steroid inhalers for over 20 years to control my difficult asthma. However over the last couple of months it’s taken a turn for the worse and I have now been prescribed a 7 day course of 30 mg Prednisolone. Having read the instructions

I am powerless
I don't know what can help me. Inhalators are not helping me with my asthma. I tried Fostair, Symbicort, Seretide, Flutiform, Spiriva respimat. Nothing helps me. I have to take ventolin 2-4 times a day. I have shortness of breath and my chest is wheezing. Two days ago I had a meeting with a consultant
