Dumbfounded by results of blood tests. New to this.
When I received shocking news about my blood test results, I found it hard to take in the information. I don't drink alcohol, so cannot understand what can be wrong with my liver. Does anyone know if prescribed medications can trigger the problem, and what does an ALT, GGT & LDH level that has tripled

Fluttering Eyelids...cripes.
In the big picture of PSP, this is a nuisance symptom, at least for me; trying to keep things in perspective. What has now evolved into a consistent symptom is my fluttering eyelids. Can be either eye, and either the upper or lower lids. Happens several times a day, usually for not very long.

Help with hypo and cardio symptoms appreciated.
I was diagnosed a year ago, after what I think was a decade of being borderline hypo. I take 25ug of levo and my last TSH measurement was 1.9. FT4 and FT3 are both 'within range'. My GP has prescribed ACE inhibitors and calcium channel blockers, neither of which had any effect on my blood pressure. She

Does anyone have problems with their eyes? I've had lupus and APS for over 30 years and never had any issues with my eyes till now.
Woke up just before Christmas with a slight blurring in my left eye which didn't go away. Ended up being diagnosed with choroidal neovascular membrane which is linked to wet macular degeneration. Eye specialist thinks this is as a result of lupus but at present my rheumatologist is unsure????

Hi - the Amlodipine aren't agreeing with me; been suggested that I try ACE inhibitors. Anyone give me any feedback if they are on them please? Thanks. Merry Christmas to you all.

Tyramine Diet Anyone?
i just increased my Emsam dosage from 6 mg to 9mg. the new patch came with a dietary warning. i cant eat any tyramine rich foods and need to decrease/avoid caffeine. tyramine is an amino acid by product (the amino acid it comes from is tyrosine). tyramine is usually just processed by the body and

A new week
Morning all Today is the first day of a brand new week for my meds. Today I drop from 18mg pred to 15mg, hopefully the steroid injection will counterbalance the drop in tablets. Today I start taking MTX (Methotrexate) in 10mg increasing in 2 weeks to 15mg then another 2 weeks to 20mg. Today the rheumy

Fatty liver
Hi, recently after an ultrasound for a lump that was a lipoma, it was discovered that I have a fatty liver, due to excessive drinking over many years. I also had a blood test and the function which should be approx 30 was 95. I have been told to stop drinking, lose weight and return in January to see

Drugs advice for Type III Hyperlipoproteinaemia.
I have recently been diagnosed with the above after genetic testing (I am 51 year old female.) I am otherwise fit, slim and healthy but have ridiculous levels of cholesterol, though the ratios are good. I am reluctantly beginning to see the ned for medication and discussions are beginning. The possibilities

Has anyone had a bad reaction to Spironolactone or experienced good results from furosemide?
I have cirrhosis due to childhood AIH, until quite recently I have managed to cope with the condition but have been told if my symptoms and acites get any worse I could be in need of a transplant. I am not responding too well to the diruetics and am feeling very anxious about the future. If anyone has
