when will i feel better?
My dad has been declining since heart attack in September. He has just been prescribed Ramipril. How long do you think it will be before he notices some benefits? We would be grateful to know of others’ experiences with ACE inhibitors

GP visit
I have been to see my GP today to talk about the results letter I received which I told you all about. He said it's f4 fibrosis, not cirrhosis, and it is reversible. I'm going to see a fibro nurse next Tuesday, which has been arranged through my drug worker. I'm going to ask all the same questions. I

Partner out of hospital
Thank you to all the replies I've had on previous posts about my partner. He is now out of hospital but on an awful lot of medication including steroids and tablets that suppress alcohol cravings. He has been diagnosed with Alcoholic Hepatitis for the second time in 2 years. I asked the consultant

Cataract surgery imminent
I have cataract surgery scheduled for next Wednesday 1st February for both eyes. It is being done privately at a hospital nearby and the opthalmic surgeon is very experienced and has a very good reputation. I have GCA and am currently taking 35 mg of prednisolone daily. The surgeon knows this and does

A cross in the sand
Does anyone else find this explanation helpful -- ? Imagine yourself sitting on the beach and you draw a cross in the sand like an 'x'. The first stroke represents your dopamine deficiency and the second stroke you draw several times as it represents an overactive adrenal response subsequent to the HABIT

Liver Disease Reversal
Seen in the Daily Mail today British designed dialysis machine can be used on liver patients and appears to reverse the disease doing away with the need for a transplant. It should be available in three years. There isn’t too much information such as what stage of the disease has it been successful

A week since my first cataract op.
Hello All, Not been on line a lot as not long had one cataract sorted. Next one due at the end of January. Was asked to stop apixaban 3 days before with no problems. All quite easy and no problems - apart from my wanting to rub my eyes when tired - which is quite often. Wife doing all the drops and

BEWHARE OF THESE MEDS
I have a prolapsed bladder and am using a pessary. My OBGYN felt I should use an insert to help strengthen my vagina walls. She prescribed Intrarosa 3x a week. I believe in Homeopathy and at 91 only take a mild blood pressure pill. She assured me that since this is topical there was no need to worry

I have recently been prescribed the above medication to reduce my ocular pressure due to complications during cataract surgery. My muscles have ached so much that I am glad to say I will be taking my last tablet in an hour. It did say in the patient leaflet that this could happen but fortunately none

3 weeks and counting!
Morning everyone. 🌄 Hoping you are all keeping safe and well as spring is on its way! 😊 3 weeks since cataract surgery, all seems to be going well and all much clearer. I was not impressed with actual operation BUT end result good and having other eye done March 15th. A week later started Clarithromycin

Advice Appreciated
Hi all, it 3 weeks since I came off Spironolactone as my liver specialist asked me to do so as after 6 month checks they believed my results showed I was in a good enough place to do so. I’ve gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks which from what I can see online isn’t classed as rapid but the last few days I’ve

Iopidine after SLT
As I am so allergic to most eye drops yesterday I had SLT as the pressure has been going up. I read that after having this you can have a pressure spike and was really worried because after my cataract surgery the pressure went from 20 to34 and I had to take Acetazolamide for two weeks which made me
