Prostate cancer morphed into NEPC
I was recently blindsided by my "under control" prostate cancer, turning into High Grade Neuroendocrine Prostate cancer (NEPC). After 13 years of various therapies, the last few years included Lupron/Eligard, Zytiga, Xtandi. This kept the PSA low (around .2) and kept my MO happy. In 2021, I asked my

Why is my TSH so low when my T4 T3 are so low?
Hi all can some please explain why my TSH is low despite my T4 T3 being low. Correct me if i have got it wrong but i have come to understand that TSH is released by the pituitary gland to stimulate release of more thyroid hormones if levlels are too low. Since 1993 i dont have a thyroid so i am on

I want to give up. I have no energy to keep going.
Hi all, I've been suffering for the past many years. Since 2022 everything went downhill and I had to quit my job as I can't function. I'm 40 years old. I was tested for everything under the sun and everything is down to thyroid. I have Hashis. I have tried many med combos, everything fails on me. Recently

My latest blood tests have just come back. I’d be grateful for comments from the amazing admins please. At the moment I’m not feeling great, my last tests about 8 months ago showed my B12 to be low so I started taking a liquid B12 supplement sublingually. I’m not taking any iron supplements. I take vit

Ndt and iodine supplement?
Hello everyone! I started treatment with NDT in t4 6 micrograms and t3 1.4 in December 2023. I tolerate it well and I'm happy about it! From my analysis done this month it turns out that my ft4 is 0.98 and ft3 is 2.69 and the tsh is 1.34... How do you find these analyses? My endocrinologist wants to

Bench mark blood tests before switching to NDT
I would welcome any comments or advice on these results and on the process of switching from levothyroxine to NDT. Thank you! Hypothyroidism I have been taking levothyroxin 100 mg for over 30 years since my early 40s. (This is my only medication. Otherwise I keep healthy with yoga, regular exercise

A little update
Hi all, I just thought I'd give a little update as I've not posted here in about a year and just possibly my experience may be of interest. I am not in ANY way invalidating anyone else's condition or treatment, this is just my story. For years I have struggled with low mood, lacking 'oomph' in life.

An Enlightening Endocrine Adventure
After appeasing an endocrinologist worried about my suppressed TSH by a cunning lab trick -- withholding NDT for three days before going for the blood work -- I realized I needed to titrate up the dose. Many thanks to those who replied with their NDT experience. I cranked it up to nearly double what

Fibrosis?
Hi there. Continuing my journey to recovery, I was today told by my doctor that I need to have a blood test to see if I have any scarring of the liver. My LFT’s are better than they were in June last year. An ultrasound in August 23 noticed a fatty liver. So, can you still get scarring of the liver

Hair Loss on NDT
Hi can anyone shed some light on my continuous hair loss. It was one of my symptoms with my hypothyroidism. I started Thyroid-s and it eventually stopped but then started again about two months ago, otherwise I feel great, infact better than I have in years. I take 1. & 3/4 grains AM and 1 & 1/2 in PM

Liothyronine (LT3) prescribing in England: Are cost constraints inhibiting guideline implementation?
Whatever else, this demonstrates beyond any doubt that the cost of the liothyronine Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient is but a minor part of the price charged to the NHS. I'd argue that the simple fact that the NHS agrees these prices strongly suggests something VERY wrong with medicines procurement.

New research. Linking Amiodarone inhibiting levothyroxine just published.
I'm a little staggered this is new!! But it is.... And I've experienced a lot of problems with ndt tolerance level even 7 months since Amiodarone was stopped. Beginning to wonder whether Amiodarones had a permenant effect. In Vivo Evaluation of the Pharmacokinetic Interaction between Levothyroxine
