Constipation vs obstipation?
I'm still not clear on the difference. In my case PD causes difficulty evacuating the bowels. Without treatment what ultimately comes out is...massive. Forcing it out there's constant fear of something tearing inside. Using colace the stools were less frightening meaning they were smaller

COVID-19 Mortality, Hospitalization Risk Higher in Patients With Blood Cancers
We've discussed this often here. This is the latest from ASH 2021. Of interest: <<Patients with MPN and plasma cell dyscrasia had less severe COVID-19 illness overall compared to patients with CLL, leukemia, MDS, or lymphoma.>> https://www.pharmacytimes.com/view/covid-19-mortality-hospitalization-risk-higher-in-patients-with-blood-cancers

Update
HI my friends! I have now seen my MPN specialist twice. I was back to see him in Nashville on November 29. My diagnosis has changed from ET to PV which is what I kept thinking (since April)! My HCT was at 47.5, so I had my first phlebotomy of 500MLs. Yahoo! I had been begging my previous Dr to do this

Help! What to do after faecal disimpaction
Hello, I'm new to this chat. I have a 3 year old who is currently going through faecal disimpaction. We are on about day 3, seems to be going according to plan. My question is, once all the blocked up poo has been removed and he poo is watery/bitty, can I just encourage lots of fluids and give him prune

Possible way GCA can turn on.
I was watching a YouTube channel yesterday that had to do with women getting fillers on their face. The doctor was teaching a class and had a woman in the chair and he was marking up her face for the fillers and was extremely careful about showing exactly where needles cannot be hit on our face because

Hi, Does anyone have any long-term experience of using high-fiber Psyllium capsules for IBS constipation?
I have just started using them and they seem to help with bowel movements although I am unsure about bloating and abdominal pain!

RLS and Parkinson's
Hi everyone, I'm new here but have been reading a lot of posts and find it very helpful. Great to find this community that support each other. I wanted to tell about my mother’s condition to see if anyone has any helpful tips or insights. My mum has been diagnosed with Parkinson recently and has started

Update - got increased dose.
Thought I’d update on my last post: https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/147181339/four-months-on-levo-maybe-a-dip?responses=147192238 I went to my GP and it was no issue at all to get increased dose. I’m on 75mg now. The only problem was when I asked about brands. She said she doesn’t decide

How do you cope with executive dysfunction
Executive dysfunction is a term for the range of cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties which often occur after injury to the frontal lobes of the brain. It includes some of the most common effects of brain injury and makes up a big list, including difficulty planning and carrying out activities

Long overdue 'anti alcohol report'
Morning, I hope you find this relevant. It's been seen as a watershed proclamation. The so called benefits of small amounts alcohol (especially wine) have been touted for centuries when it comes to cardiovascular health. Four days ago the World Heart Federation officially changed the message. Unequivocally

WEEK 7 RUN 2 ✔✔
Week 7 Run 2 wow... that was my hardest run yet. I think my weekend of excessive drinking and late nights really didn't help after all my body is a temple 🤣🤣 I nearly gave up half way through but did a 3 minute 'barely a joggle' to catch my breath. Any ideas on how to prevent that horrible phlegm

Heading for a padded Christmas -Aargh!
In my early teens I was very ill and bedridden for a bit, and she put me in pads to avoid
accidents
. It was a shame that dogged me for years. Sorry just needed to let it out.

Feeling unwell after starting Medication
Started meds last Monday (450 iu meriofert and 0.5ml buserelin per day) and two days in having very bad nausea, painful bloated stomach, feeling extremely tired and spaced out. I don't remember feeling like this last time. Is this normal? Should I be concerned 🙁 Is it a high dosage? Xx

TBI…Where is my life going!
I am totally losing track of time, days even weeks and years! My partner of 21 years died last year. He was my carer and although my symptoms have not changed. I have realised that my life is racing ahead and I am stuck at home 90% off the time. My family and friends are a few people who do the best

TBI. I have overcome any trauma in my life and yet I can not beat this!
Hi. I am new on here! In 2009 I was mugged and attacked and it left me with a TBI. I had bleeding and swelling on the brain which was missed on my first MRI. Having been through years of being misdiagnosed and not being listened too, my treatment has been delayed at every stage. I am permanently disabled

Any suggestions on how to help a 4 year old use the toilet in school, when he refuses to if he is not with his parents ?
So when he is at home with us he never has
accidents
, and often when he is with us out and about he 70% of the time won’t have
accidents
and will use the potty / go on a tree / or use a toilet.

Nefopam
Has anybody tried nefpam for IBS pain? My GP has just prescribed them but I'm worried about nausea/vomiting. I've tried all kinds, pregagbin, mitazapine, amitriptyline, tramadol(makes me vomit), nothing seems to take away the constant pain
