Acalabrutinib
. It is a new drug related to ibrutinib. This is a pill form that has less side effects .Now we are waiting for treatment. We are moving and will start with a new oncologist / hematologist. His WBC is 64. His only symptom is enlarged lymph nodes around his neck.

Acalabrutinib trial in Oxford?
I am in a clinical trial in Salt Lake City Utah, receiving 200mg/day ACP-196 since may 2015 with good results and almost no side effects. As I am moving to Germany I would like to continue this trial somewhere in the EU, preferably in Oxford, because I have a son who lives there. Last year a representative

Decision made, approval received. Will be starting Acalabrutinib at NIH
I am hoping that the
Acalabrutinib
will knock things back enough to buy me time until they get the combos further along. Thanks your for all your support, recommendations, kind words, etc.

What to do?
Acalabrutinib
clinical trial at NIH - easy peasy and no cost at all. But I would have to stay on acalabrutib until I relapse/resist/etc.; or 2. Triple clinical trial at OSU (Byrd) for obinutuzimab, Ibrutinib and Venetoclax for 14 months.

Dr Sharman's inaugural guest blog on Venclexta / Venetoclax / ABT-199, by Tom Boyd; Essential reading if you are considering this treatment
Considering treatment with Venclexta (or its myriad names) or Ibrurinib (and its myriad names) or ACP196/
acalabrutinib
(and I'm sure it will soon gain another name)?

ACP-196 (BTK inhibitor acalabrutinib) Trial
Well, my husband is now at the 12 month point on this trial. Bloods etc are all OK. He had a bone marrow biopsy while we were at Kings last Monday and will find out the results on our next 3 month visit in June. Judging on the results of one of the patients who is three months ahead of us on the trial

Have Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca done one better than AbbVie, purchasing 55 percent of Acerta Pharma for acalabrutinib (ACP-196)?
"Earlier this year, AbbVie won an intense bidding war for Pharmacyclics, paying $21 billion for the company and the right to split sales of its potential blockbuster blood-cancer drug Imbruvica with Johnson & Johnson. AstraZeneca may have just done AbbVie one better." http://www.chicagobusiness.com
