Waiting for chemo to start
I had surgery 5 weeks ago which involved a full hysterectomy and then I was later given a staging of ovarian cancer 3b. All has been healing well, except I now feel a bit bloated again on the right hand side (the left is softer). I am thinking it could be ascites rebuilding (I did have 6ltrs removed

Raised LFT Question
Good morning, I was wondering if anyone could offer me any insight to my blood test results. I used Thriva to check my Liver function amongst other things and all come back ok except GGT of 112. I mentioned to GP and she ordered some more blood tests. In the meanwhile I have had a hysterectomy almost

Hysterectomy - time off work!
Hi! Sorry, its me again! Anyone that's had a hysterectomy, how long were you signed off from work? I'm just tying to forward plan (as much as possible!) getting my work covered and arranging childcare for the school run! Thanks in advance!

High CA-125, yet no symptoms
I was diagnosed with Ovarian serous adenocarcinoma, Grade 3c in 9/2017. I had a TOTAL hysterectomy, and debaulking. First round of chemo was carbo-taxol - responded well. Two years later I had a recurrence and had a second round of carbon-gemzar and avastin and responded well. In March of 2020 I started

Decisions!!! Hysterectomy!!!
I last wrote here about two years ago before and after I had a laparotomy and removal of endo. This was the second ablasion I had had in 8 years. The relief lasted about nine months before I started noticing symptoms again. At the beginning of 2021 I started noticing changes in bowel habit and pain when

6 months after hysterectomy
So I had an
abdominal
hysterectomy
6 months ago and wow the difference is amazing. To be told I may never walk again and be stuck like that to exercising (which was my aim).

Feeling lost
Following full hysterectomy, removal of appendix, and omentum , graded as 2a mucinous, which was found in the right ovary , and a small microscopic amount in the left . I was told mucinous is very hard to treat and had 6 months carboplatin chemo . Unfortunately I have a recurrence just 6 months later

Treating recurrence with Doxil: Side Effects?
I am three years from the end of carboplatin and Taxol chemotherapy for my Stage 3 ovarian cancer. Prior to chemo I had a complete hysterectomy, omentectomy, appendectomy, and transverse colon resection. I now have a recurrence, with a tumor near the sigmoid colon and rectum. There is no surgery or radiation

Phenytoin sodium long term links to cancer?
Hi, my girlfriend has epilepsy and was put on this drug about 7 years ago. She is 32 and since being on it she has undergone over a dozen surgeries, a hysterectomy and partial vulvectomy. Her consultant has advised it may be worth changing medication as they don’t understand why her cancer Has been so

Oh no! New pain!
Hello everyone. A little bit about me. I was diagnosed with endometriosis 4 years ago. Had excision surgery for it and was later found to have adenomyosis too. I had a hysterectomy in May this year and was doing really well. I always thought there was more to my pain than what I was experiencing. Well

Partial hysterectomy -long term side effects?
I have lots of fibroids including really big one and will probably need hysterectomy. I would get to keep ovaries and cervix. Still I read some side effects like back pain, hips pain, loss of sex drive, aging faster. Just would like to hear from women who had this done - whats your experience? I'm not

Horrific pain
Hi all, I haven't posted in a while but feel a bit lost. The past week the pain has been horrific, to the point I ended up in a&e last weekend. The pain is the worst its been at the moment and I genuinely don't know what to do. No pain meds are helping and currently awaiting a hysterectomy. I know people

Hysterectomy
Had a full
abdominal
hysterectomy
today at 10.30 to remove my large fibroid. Good riddens! Also removed cervix and ovaries to prevent further complications. I'm very sore but managed with pain relief. Consultant is going to speak to me tomorrow. Wish me luck. Thanks all for support.

Suitable clothing post hysterectomy
Hi, like many folk, I’m on the waiting list for a total hysterectomy. Trying to do something practical, I’m preparing for the recovery. Can anyone recommended good clothing options for when I return from hospital please? I’ve read that dungarees are useful, did anyone wear those post op and what brand

Hysterectomy date!
Hi! I had the follow up from my lap a month ago this morning, and got the date for my hysterectomy - still 2 months to wait, but at least it's moving in the right direction! The consultant seemed pretty confident that it will still be laparoscopic even though my uterus is, in their words, 'impressively
