If it ain’t broke?????
Hi, I’m new to this forum and seeking people’s view on my position... I’ve had an over active thyroid since I was 19 I’m now 43, I just have carbimazole ( varying dose depending on if I’ve had a break) currently on 20mg. I’ve spent my whole adult life feeling absolutely fine, just taking 1 tablet a day

Been to hormone specialist...not sure what to think?!
I am new here, but not new to thyroid problems. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2001 after years of symptoms no doctor could explain: high blood pressure difficult to control even with medication, hair loss, high cholesterol, weight gain and fluid retention. Doctors suggested I was eating too much

Thinking of going through with RAI Treatment but having doubts.
I've had Graves Disease for 7 years now and managed it on low doses of Carbimazole. This works well most of the time but find my levels still fluctuate and I still struggle now and again with muscle weakness, bruising, brain fog and low mood. I've learnt to manage these symptoms (kind of) but what I'm

Covid19: In a World's first, Iodine sanitiser to hit indian market
While vaccine is still elusive, in the mean time , it has been seen that ordinary Iodine solution which is currently used as (1) Water purifier (2) Mouth Gargle (3) Antiseptic solution used for cleaning wounds has been seen killing out Covid19 with 99.9% effectiveness . Scientists have just found out

Looking for further reading/research on low TSH
Hello again, Firstly, thanks for all the info so far! I have previously posted my results and thyroid background in another thread. I take thyroxine following RAI I was wondering if anyone knew of further reading/information/research on low but not suppressed TSH (I'm at 0.08), specifically in pregnancy

Conflicting MRI Grade on 2nd opinion..... any expert opinions?
Kaiser MRI report PIRADS 3 : Prostate is mildly enlarged measuring 4.6 x 6.2 x 6.0 cm 84 cc. Peripheral lobe prostate has ill-defined patchy T2-weighted signal without discrete lesion restricted diffusion. Posterior right peripheral lobe has a posterior linear focus of increased signal on the value

High ferritin level and skin problems
After my RAI treatment in January by March I started to become hypo. My scalp looked like a salt lake, white and crusty and very itchy. I mentioned it to my endo but as soon as I used the word lumpy he cut me off, nothing new there. Since then I’ve developed itchy, crusty spots and rashes . Having paid

Iodine when hypo?
Hello I would like to take some iodine, selenium and molybdenum to help with my b2 and b12. But I am hypo on 50/75mcg levo with antibodies 950 (autoimmune thyroid). Just wanting to ask is it safe to take iodine in this case (just the recommended daily amount)? I find it all very confusing

Getting off levo is possible. My experience.
I stopped taking levothyroxine in May after weaning off it for a year and a half. For those that are interested in what happens when you wean off levo - it takes about a month/month and a half for the body to adjust to not having the external hormones coming in. For me, one of the surprising changes

Hyperthyroidism - treatment sequence?
Hi guys I've been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and referred to see a consultant, which I'm researching now. I can see from my limited research that there are approximately 2 or 3 different treatment options, including some medication, radiates iodine and finally surgery. I'm wondering if all

Allergy to iodine ..why now!?
After my eye injections in August I had an allergic reaction I’ve never had before. With 10 minutes of leaving hospital my nose started streaming ...which I thought may be hay fever but when I got home one eye was swollen and badly bloodshot. Had a little sleep and when I woke my cheeks were red and

Diet for hashis
Hashis. Just got results back of 1.8 TSH from NHS so they have kept my Levo at 75mg. I take one and a half 50mg as the 25mg Veto gave me a headache. Have asked for medical records to put on here but it’s taking an age to get them. After which I’ll pay to get some private tests done and make sure T3

MRI scan and iodine dye.....is it a problem for Hashi sufferers ?
I’m hoping someone on here can advise. I’m booked in for an MRI scan as part of an investigation into a trapped nerve in my neck. It’s all a bit scary but as I live in France it’s also an unfamiliar process (not that I’ve done it before). From what I can see, they inject a dye into intravenously before

Iodine - can't find link to recent article
Not long ago someone posted a link to an article suggesting that iodine is not as bad as we have been led to believe. I meant to read it at the time, but didn't and now I can't find it. Does anyone remember this and can give me a link to it? This time I'll bookmark it and read it! My naturopath adviser
