Will Oxygen help in the home when suffering from a sickle cell crisis? If this is not the case why do S.C sufferers including those who are a carrier of the Gene need extra oxygen when having an operation? Any opinions and answers would be grateful.

Yes 100%! It would help a lot with a crisis

Thank you so much. I too am a sickle cell sufferer, and thankyou for your reply, I hopefully will help to change that in the future.

I think oxygen would help in the home a lot. Often I feel short of breath - especially if the weather is particularly extreme (too hot, too cold) - but not in enough pain or 'crisis-y' enough to warrant going to the hospital. To be able to give myself a safe boost of oxygen would save time, energy and hospital resources.

Thank you so much. My argument exactly. The more replies I get, the more evidence I have. Keep them coming.
