Stage 4B OC, 1st recurrence. Looking for kind guidance.

I have just been diagnosed with a recurrence after 18 treatments of Carbo and Taxol and debulking surgery. Diagnosed originally in June 2019 with OC stage 4B. I am told because my recurrence happened in 6 months, I “may be” platin resistant. I am looking to follow and learn from women who have practiced integrative methods with their chemo, such as hyper nutrition, detoxing from certain environmental and food sources that contain Sugar, hormones, metals, acid, etc., and finally and most importantly, spiritual practices that promote wellness in the mind and heart. Please do not take this personally, but lovingly, I must say that I am struggling to read and follow women who share only the horrors of our disease with little to no sharing of what they are doing to build up their spiritual faith and hope and gratitude for life. A focus on controlling the outcome, while a natural practice, is led by primal fear. I have chosen to let go of the fear, the outcomes and believe in God, the spirit, my self healing body, to do it’s best to heal and keep me in a state of comfort and peace. Some of you may think this is “Polly-Anna”, but this thought process has brought me so much peace. Please help me by sharing your success stories!!! Love and good vibrations to you all. May you float like a feather on a warm beautiful day. ♥️🙏🏻

Hi Kit_Culpepper, I have been on this forum on behalf of someone very close I know and isn't on social media who had a recurrence just within the 6 month mark thought to be "platin" resistant.

She had 6 cycles of taxol/ carbo, followed by a debulking surgery with another 3 cycles of the same.

She was told she was NED since her CT scans were clear though CA 125 hadn't dropped to the normal range. Anyhow, after the recurrence she had to take another 6 cycles of gemzar and avastin and is currently only on avastin with the disease being stable.

She is someone who takes it by the day, has let go of fear, is very happy living in the present as she feels abundant with so many other blessings all around her and believes she is putting in her best medically but ultimately her spiritual faith will take her through it. Due to that, she feels great, tolerates her cycles well and keeps busy. As for food, she has only cut down on sugar, processed foods and tries to have antioxidants and supplements though not so regularly. Hope this helps:)

Hello, I have been struggling to find the peace that I need to move forward and get rid of my fears. I am finding it slowly with lots of prayers. I am reading a daily devotional and a book while surrounding myself with all that is good. Basking in the sun and looking at the blue skies. I had stage 1C in 2017 and it returned. I am starting chemo next week after surgery to remove another mass this past July. However, I am seeking, like you, what else I can do to keep this at bay. So, I made an appointment with City of Hope in Los Angeles. They are an incredible resource on all that is cancer and have saved many lives that I can personally attest to. I have an appointment to go over my diagnosis and all my reports. I am excited to hear what they have to say, if they agree with the current treatment, what they recommend after chemo, clinical trials and any other information they might suggest. Sending a prayer and a hug to you. Yvonne

Hi Kit,

Im sorry about your recurrence. I found an Interesting read about 3 herbal supplements: curcumin, Boswellia, and French grape seed extract. Recommended by researcher Ajay Goel, PhD, City of Hope in La Puente California.

I googled Goel and he seems to be legit. I ordered some BCM 95 curcumin for my wife after reading the piece. I wish you well.
