I was on ibrance 100 mg and anastrozel for 3.5 years. Starting Xeloda 1500 morning and 1500 night. Took me off ibrance and anastrozel because not working. I have a biopsy Monday of an area in my lung which has grown a little I had a PET scan. I have a great oncologist and I was stable. Genetic testing etc. she was really hoping I could go on piqray or another targeted treatment. My concern am I now considered triple negative if it’s not fueled by hormones. I was HER- I really trust her but you know this is when we all think about how much time we may have left. Then I pick myself up and keep on going I feel great!! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Hello! You were lucky to be able to cope with anastrozole. I had to flip to Letrozole due to intense itching with anastrozole. It’s being paired with Kisquali. Good luck on new treatment. God bless you! 💗💗🙏🏻🙏🏻 Linda

Gee. I didn’t know that about Anastrozole. I couldn’t be on Letrazole cause I got carpal tunnel and trigger thumb in both hands from it.

This year has seen new drugs especially for triple negative cancer so don’t despair. There’s still plenty of options left for you even if you’re triple negative! Unfortunately this wretched disease does mutate and it can change its makeup but that just opens you up to different drugs. It doesn’t close the door on you.

All the best

Kerry

This is so good for me to hear, …. That you are feeling great. I’m about to go onto either of those too. And just been on Ibrance and Anastrozole for more than 5 years. We are lucky that have had a good time on those I think. I’m not sure about what my genetic test will show up yet. I find out on Friday whether I will be on Xeloda or Piqray.

My oncologist was hoping I could do piqray but alas Xeloda it is. Hopefully your genetic test shows Piqray if not Xeloda I understand is very promising ❤️ keep me updated!!

Bless you! I do the same at points of change.

Have to worry a bit. Pray to Jesus. Then pick myself up and press on! No one knows the day or the hour of passing. You have a lovely attitude 😊

I was on Ibrance then piquray and have been on Xeloda for a year now. Certainly annoyed at the loss of time and progression from not hitting the mark the first time. (Her low)But I have been stable and not getting infusions so thankful. I do suffer from Hand Foot syndrome but if you should encounter, your doctor can adjust the dosage which helps. I would recommend you use a cream on your your hands and feet at least twice a day. I use gloves and socks to help lock in the moisture. There is always the fear that the meds will stop working but I do my best to push those thoughts aside and remain positive and hopeful.

Thank you so much for your information!! Yes they gave me the cream and gloves!! Plus advice to use socks! Plus Zofran in case of nausea. So glad you’re stable!!

You are not considered triple negative unless you have a pathology report saying you are. Your meds stopped working because of resistance your hormone status did not necessarily change at all. If you have the lung biopsy they will check the tissue and you will have a pathology report. Let us know how things go for you Wishing you the best.
