Liver radiation

Good morning awesome people

Because my liver has grown a bit, my brain automatically goes into thinking overdrive, sometimes fear generated thoughts.

Has anybody had their liver grow and Dr did a radiation process to shrink the tumor? Was it successful. Mine at discovery was 4 cm and is has grown since March 1 cm. She wants to watch and hope Ibrance starts to work on the liver.

Thanks for any input ❤

I started IV taxol when my liver got worse. I was terrified, as my last experience with full dose taxol was not pleasant. This new dosage is not bad at all and I feel much better on taxol than I ever did on Ibrance. Do you have cancer cells in the remainder of your liver? Where are you being treated? Have you been on Ibance since March and now growing tumor? I also use some organic cod liver oil on my abdomen with heat as often as I can at night. Plus other things as complementary approaches.

Thank you so much for your info!! My liver was the first other site after my breast tumor, welcome to mbc. It was 4 cm when I got my PET scan. I am on cycle 5of Ibrance. I live in Nova Scotia. I am ok with my onocologyst waiting 2 mths to see what CT scan will show. Just get very nervous about the organs. I shouldn't get upset fear doesn't help going through all this. Taxol is like a chemo IV? Should they not just use radiation to shrink tumor, or Taxol is a better idea and not so invasive?I just started a casterol pack and morning lemon and warm water. Bones are healing, only I have 2 small ones.

Thank you!

Not sure about one tumor in liver, I had and have cancer throughout my liver. There were two tumors of measurable size all along. Now I have only one they measure as they do not measure under one cm. So for me, radiation of a tumor would not be workable, therefore IV taxol, which has worked really well in past 9 months to reduce and stabilize MBC. Just curious as to whether your doc uses tumor markers and what are yours?

She may use markers, but has never shared. What is great about our hospital is that all the onocologyst get together one a week to discuss patients. It is good to have different ideas..I think.

I guess , I need to meditate more and just watch it. Cancer is lovely like that !!

Thank you for your input, I greatly appreciate 🥰

Hi Deb. I asked my radiation oncologist that but he said radiation to liver is usually done as a last resort. They prefer the systemic route first. Hope this helps.

Thank you Sandra. I have been blessed with no chemo on this journey.
