Feeling yucky

Hello hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving with family and friends! We have so much to be thankful for! I was wondering if anybody taking Ibrance ever feels just yuck. 😝 I am on my 3rd cycle into my second week and I feel bad. This happened to me last cycle and they bumped me down from 125mg to 75mg due to my numbers being to low. I just feel like I have no energy, nauseous and achy. When I am on my 7days off I start to feel better right when I am about to start up again. Does this normally go away after being on ibrance for a while??

Yes, Not so soon when I had begun Ibrance. I also was on 75 mg. When the side effects were too bad, my oncologist came me an extra week. We had talked about doing one week on and one off cycle. I didn't have to do that, but ask your oncologist about that.

I am now on Capecitabine. I have had to take an extra week off also.

I hope you get some relief soon.

I’m sorry you are feeling yucky. I can’t say that I have this problem. I am going very well on Ibrance. It just may not be for you. There are, from what I have heard here and from my oncologist, many other options.Good luck.

Happy Thanksgiving! I just started Cycle 5. The labs normalized, but fatigue definitely getting worse. Unfortunately, it’s cumulative, but as long as it works, I’ll continue taking it. I also have a lot of aches, but it could be related to multiple bone mets I have. Warm bath, infrared blankets or sauna (if it’s financially feasible) helps with general aches.

Feel better!

I take 100mg for 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off so my platelets recover. I do feel yucky at different points in my cycle. It is cumulative. But, I get a B12 shot every 5 weeks and it seems to help with the fatigue and I drink lots of water.

Huh, so it may be the Ibrance that makes me feel yucky. I have been doing great on it, but after a year and a half had the yucks after my last treatment. I have never had low counts, am on 125 mg, but that definitely makes one feel depleted. Even when I feel it is going well, I have a slump many afternoons and have to lie down for a while. My energy returns after about an hour. I also take Wellbutrin, which helps quite a bit with the fatigue that all treatments can inflict on us.

What dose of Wellbutrin are you on?

BuPROPion XL 150 mg 24 hour

I was taking the non-extended release at a lower dose but it was interfering with sleep. Now I take the higher dose XL in the morning, and my sleep is mostly interrupted by my impossible cat who stands in the next room howling so I will get up and give her treats. Then she sleeps all day.

I was on for 15 cycles before it stopped working but I definitely felt "gross" week 3...just YUCK. Hang in there!

Sorry about the yukkies. Not easy when a yukky strikes.. Thank you for talking about it, and continuing on being here, and sharing and caring.. Helps me to be easier on myself too when they strike.. Together .. Gratitude for the solidarity.

Itisfinished,

I completed 10 cycles, and fortunately, I never felt any adverse reaction. I am sorry that you are having a tough time with it. I am off it in preparation for surgery on 12/4, and since stopping it I have felt very tired. Strange how the same drug can affect people differently.

Best,

Colleen

Mary115,

Thank you SO much for the comforting thoughts. I will admit that I will be happy when the surgery is done and, hopefully, the pathology comes back good.

Best!

You are in thought, and will be grateful when you are able to post again after the 4th.I wanted to go to the Weekend of Hope in Stowe VT this year, (for Cancer patients/survivors and their families) but of course. Here's hoping that after Covid we can meet up there...

Sorry to hear you are feeling yucky on Ibrance. I did 20 cycles of Ibrance. I found week 3 to be the hardest and for the last 10 cycles I had to do 11 - 14 days off to get my ANC count up to where I could start again. I agree with the advice to drink water. I was advised to take B6 and Vitamin D3.

I didn't notice. I felt so grotty before I started meds that I seem to have been better on letrozole and ibrance. I'm on 8th cycle. Hope you improve. Carolynxx
